This is beautiful and speaks to my grief. ๐ค

It's two POVs. It's a far future dystopian sapphic romance, but what else happens in it is staying a secret for now! ๐
Time for yourself is essential and it feels fabulous. Writing after a good walk (nature is my preferred element but the city works just as well) is my favourite way to do things - you can ponder gently as you go and the blank page holds fewer fears when you get to it! Great for unlocking creativity.
I studied it for GCSE alongside Thom Gunn. Incredible words from both of them, though Gunn's 'The Unsettled Motorcyclist's Vision of His Death' is still my favourite after all this time.
I haven't read this for about 35 years! Thank you for reminding me it exists.
A screen shot of a sound recording of bird song in Albury Park, Surrey, UK. Underneath is a list of birds heard, with their pictures: Great Tit, Eurasian Wren, Ring-necked Pheasant, Common Firecrest, Coal Tit, European Robin, Goldcrest
I used the Merlin Bird ID app yesterday for the first time on a lovely hike through Albury Park.
The existence of the Common Firecrest must imply the existence of the Legendary Firecrest, right?

FAAAALKOOOOOOOR!!!
Ida with author Philip A Suggars, holding a copy of his debut novel 'The Lighthouse at the End of the World'
Philip A Suggars reading from 'The Lighthouse at the End of the World' at Super Relaxed Fantasy Club in Kings Cross, London. He is wearing glasses, a black cardigan, and a grey kilt.
Georgia Summers reading from 'Trollheim, Tales of Systir' at Super Relaxed Fantasy Club in Kings Cross, London. She is wearing glasses, a burgundy cardigan, a floral shirt and a bright yellow skirt.
'The Lighthouse At The End of the World' by Philip A Suggars- a surreal jaunt in a richly reimagined Greater London - and 'Trollheim: Tales of Systir' by Georgia Summers - the first book in an exciting Nordic shared universe.
Another fabulous @srfantasyclub.bsky.social this week, with @felipeazucares.bsky.social ("It rhymes with face huggers") and @georgiasummers.bsky.social.

Then cross fingers that I'm actually writing what editors want to read ๐ I generally write what I want, I enjoy the process. It's lovely when you find the perfect home for your work but I'm fairly sanguine about it when it's not quite the right fit!
Second submission of the week! Just a lil flash, but still, this is pretty good for me. It used to take me six months to write a short story. I think I may finally be confident in my writing voice - it's only taken 9 years!
Now back to the novel! ๐ฅณ

A river runs past verdant greenery on one side and a path with a bench and trees behind on the other.
Ida wearing a dark blue tshirt and glasses, sat at her ipad in a pub with wonderful duck wallpaper
Porchetta with vibrant green pea purรฉe, salsa verde and fried gnocchi, dotted around with green peas and dark green capers. This was so delicious!
A hoverfly sucks nectar from a dandelion.
I had a day to myself yesterday so went on a hike in the countryside to a lovely pub to sit, write and enjoy an exceptional pub lunch. My basic novel outline is now complete - time to start drafting! ๐ฅณ

It's Mayfair by gel bottle with an added glitter ombre. I treated myself to fancy nail art for Eastercon!
Ooh, something to look into!
Ida's finger with deepest blue nail varnish with iridescent blue glitter, and upon it a tiny beetle also of the deepest blue with an iridescent sheen.
Don't you just love it when visiting beetles match your nail varnish?
Thank you! ๐ค๐ป
I have the bug now! And next year I will know what to expect and can be waaay more organised ๐ Though getting the same amount of art to Glasgow might be tricky ๐ง
Doing my story submission dance and feeling all proud and adulty...

It was an amazing experience exhibiting for the first time! Though a steep learning curve ๐
If that was my kitten, it would have been on the floor in seconds and she would probably have rolled a critical hit.
It was a great con, Phil. Congratulations to you and the whole team. ๐๐ป๐๐ป๐๐ป
I only started painting in November! I've had some time off work with ill health and needed something restful to do.
This was my first Eastercon art show. I am humbled by the lovely things people have said to me about my art this weekend and delighted that so many works have found their way to loving homes. ๐ฅณ๐ฅฐ
