Sure, I appreciate your perspective &, again, I'm not advocating that others do the same. I'd much rather he was here fighting the good fight. But it still moved me.

Graphic reading “Earth Day” above a beaded artwork. The beadwork shows a split landscape: on the left, a burning forest with flames and charred trees over brown earth; on the right, a vibrant green landscape with a river, flowers, and a butterfly. A Métis infinity symbol sits above, and below reads “Ralliement National des Métis / Métis National Council.”
Some parts of the world are on fire.
Some parts are still soft and growing.
Both are true at the same time.
Some days it feels like we’re too late.
Then you see something small and alive and think… maybe we’re not.
Happy #earthday 🌎
We can split hairs over his number of supporters, but whatever the number it was enough to win 2 of 3 elections & enough to keep him in power despite manifold illegalities. I shared my thoughts as I sincerely wish your country well. Good luck to you.
Fair enough. I wish he was still alive too. I can still honour his deep compassion & feeling of helplessness watching our relentless march off a cliff, the hope that maybe if he did something dramatic it would shock people into awareness. I think he was wrong, but I can still love him for trying.
I don't think toxic behaviour should be ignored. The question is how to deal w/it &, IMO, this is not the way. You still live in a democracy (for the moment) in which at least 40% support authoritarianism. I would have thought there was nothing more important than bothering while you still can

The foreign psyops operation to promote the Donbas-style traitors in Ottawa is at work. This has Brexit style interference all over it. Will the government take steps to shut down the foreign threats to our nation?

Well, there is that one guy who insists that no laws apply to him unless he agrees to abide by them, who's so far managed to become head of the US government, so....
Americans have yet to come to grips w/the fact that they no longer live in a state under the rule of law. The law doesn't apply anymore to the regime or its supporters, and that won't change tomorrow or next year. The only question now is what will Americans do about that?
37% support for a psychopath is a shocking indictment of a whole society & more than enough to allow the creation of a dictatorship. The Nazi party only needed 33% of the vote in the last fully free elections in Germany in November 1932.
he's just asking questions.
An image of Wynn Bruce seated in meditation, wearing Zen robes, superimposed on an earth on fire, which is superimposed on the supreme court building in Washington.
Wynn Bruce immolated himself on Earth Day, April 22, 2022, in front of the US Supreme Court building in Washington, DC. He wasn't mentally ill or depressed. He just gave a shit in the era of MAGA & 'don't look up'. I don't agree w/ his actions, but I honour his intentions & his courage.
After France, Denmark is moving too: its Digitalisation Ministry plans to phase out Microsoft, switching to Linux and LibreOffice in the coming months. The goal is clear—reduce dependence on a handful of global tech giants and strengthen digital sovereignty.

A cabal of the uber-rich have decided most of us are expendable & ruining their views.
Because the US is no longer a state where the rule of law prevails. it just doesn't. It ignores international laws abroad; it ignores the constitution & any number of legal statutes at home. Everybody seems to know this but Americans.
“It is not an exaggeration to say that the minority report was gerrymandered to benefit the UCP by significantly diluting urban voters.”

This statement is objectively untrue & unhelpful - to anyone, really, except the regime. Building alliances is always difficult & it is waaay too late in the day to be indulging in this kind of thing. For God's sake: hang together or make your peace w/ hanging separately.

This early twentieth century slogan summarizes one of the great labor battles of the time: the demand for more leisure time. This poster was created as part of the 100th anniversary of the St. Paul Union Advocate newspaper.
How many people terrorized by these goons?
How is this different than shakedowns by the mob?
Nobody acts like this. Not the Houthis. Not Iran. Not China. Not North Korea. And definitely not the mob. Nobody. This is the same country whose head of state declared his willingness to commit genocide over a week ago, w/ no consequences.

So, it turns out that it's a lot harder to make peace w/an adversary who doesn't believe you will perform any of your commitments (b/c you've broken all previous ones) & who doesn't believe that you won't try to kill them the second their back is turned (b/c you killed their wife & dad). Weird
