They targeted our goalkeepers weakness in the last game. Pleased we are doing the same to them this.
If the legs are there, keep this M2M high press Bayern style up. High risk, but potentially high reward

Not a single pyrotechnic flame in sight. Must have heard about the Colney fire pep talk this week
We are so rigid in our patterns of play.
When the brief opportunity for a spontaneous progressive potentially threatening pass opens up, the safer play or reset pattern is chosen by all…
Except for Eze. My money is on him to break the mould, and take us away from the inevitable result/performance
Can we talk about the bozo gene? Seems to be present in players who at some point were/are key to the team…
Zinchenko - vital then became a liability
Gabriel - suppressed since arrival, but now seeping out
TP5 - the less said the better
Raya - unmasked under pressure
Zubi - latest case?
What Odegaard brings to the team is difficult to quantify as arteta put it
As frustrating as those seemingly pointless backwards passes or him dropping in to the back constantly are - they do help set a rhythm, and calmness in our play
Zubimendi hasn’t looked the same since the error in the Utd game
It’s probably exhaustion - it would be interesting to know how many minutes he had accumulated by the Utd game in comparison to his previous season averages
It still amazes me how much of the game is mental
Perpetual anxiety in every action. Only a goal changes this, and a win resets the anxiety levels until the next game
You go up via the stairs, you come down via the elevator
Very little time to course correct and salvage
We will drop more points/lose again
9 guaranteed games to go - I will take a limp over the line in the league. This project deserves a league title

He did to us what was done to him,
youtu.be/Cujw_dPOJ64?...
In hindsight the line up was wrong (no problem with Kepa starting) but Martinelli/Calafiori should have started or come on an half time
We really missed Eze/odegaard. Also needed a centre forward that could drop, hold up and link
Cannot question the decision to start Kepa, it was the right thing to do
Yes. He made a mistake for their first, but the game was lost between minutes 45-65
Analyse, regroup. We have lost the battle, we cannot afford to lose the war as a result
Come on you gunners!
It’s still better than suffering Neville and co. on Sky
I want this Barca side to make it through the semis! My god, they are so porous and naive defensively
It’s starting to click for Gyokeres and Eze in this system
They look so much more fluid with a better understanding of their team mates’ movements
Especially Gyokeres this second half. Excellent off the ball, and threatening on it, deserves a G or A tonight
These magic moments are what you sign Eze for! A brilliant goal out of absolutely nothing
If these get moments earn us some silverware, he’s worth every penny
7 more wins…. #COYG
Odegaard is fit, and no doubt he is a key player, but… please don’t rush him back. Give Eze a chance, let the chemistry from this game flourish
@clivepafc.bsky.social on the post match podcast sums up why, in my opinion
#AVP
Fantastic victory, just what was needed today!
Enjoy this - players, staff supporters!
1 week off to recover. Another 30 points to fight for, don’t rush players back (still good to see Odegaard fit), use the squad, ride on the wave of good form/partnerships!
#COYG
Just spotted, I forgot about Eze!
So did the Sp*rs defence
Gabriel got involved in nonsense but got away with it there
Timber off, but looks like white isn’t fit - explains that
Gyokeres that’s exactly what I meant, excellent goal!
Ratings:
Raya: use feet for low shots
Timber: tired, white should have started
Saliba: unfazed
Gabriel: stay away from nonsense please
Hincapie: consolidating position
Zubi: ticking
Rice: expected better
Trossard: pass the ball
Saka: determined
Gyokeres: stop grappling, get and keep ball, score
Next (might not be for a while if they are relegated!) north london derby at the emirates tifo?
“North London - Red since 1886”

Fantastic cathartic read by @lgambrose.bsky.social this morning:
likeanewsletter.substack.com/p/keep-the-b...
Heads up, onto the next #COYG
It’s now out of our hands
That game was a vicious circle of nervousness - the players, the coaching staff, the fans
It gives the opposition hope, run that little bit further/faster, go for that 50/50, take risks - they could smell blood from half time. 2nd goal should have killed it
Pivotal
The margins in this league are so so small
Every single game will be a challenge one way or another. No one will roll over for us like they do city until we win it
Embrace it. 4 points clear. Onto the next one. Bring it on!

Or Calafiori,
Not a single shot from open play. Might need that set piece goal to unlock the spaces
In case of emergency, break the Saka/Odegaard glass, but Kai’s absence should serve as warning to asking too much from returning injured players
Big 2nd half, narrative pens are being sharpened..
Game wise
They know our patterns, their press was coordinated as a result
We changed Rice and Zubi’s build up duties towards the end of the half, and suddenly acres of space
Need some unpredictability, I can guess our next pass from my sofa for most of the half
Perfect for Eze, if he turns up
The referee has been terrible (for both sides) so far
Didn’t give a (probably deserved) foul to the home team, got lambasted by their manager, booked him
Reactionary decisions since, losing control of the game
That yellow for Gyokores was shocking
Rosenior rightly getting pelters from Merson and sky pundits for that tactical approach
He didn’t deliver the narrative they were salivating for, and he’s being cooked
Fuck em, fuck the lot of em
Called it
A semi-final second leg, one goal down and you waste 45+ minutes playing tactical mind games? With a plan to actually attack in the last 15 mins against probably the best defence/off the ball team in Europe?
Okay then…
