Unsolicited but here I go: I quite enjoy reading Molecular population genetics--well-explained logics and the evolution of methods and easy-to-follow equations. Also it gets that humor I usually sense from bioinformatician/programmer community. Would highly recommend it.

Methods or Russian dolls? And I love the fact that exclamation marks are indispensable 😆: The coalescent is "a model of a model" 🤔 while the sequentially Markovian coalescent models are "even more removed from natural populations: they are a model of a model of a model!" 😂
I also believe that apart from anger and aggression, we could also pass on hope, take actions regardless of how small it is. Thank you for the conversation Jane.

Q: How far is Stockholm University from the baseline of the Arctic 66.33°? It's around 6.97°, which explains why the sunset is so close to midnight ☀️😴😅
It also quotes Jared Diamond's hypothesis in Collapse 📖: deforestation is a key contributing factor to ALL KNOWN past civilizations' downfall.
Need not to speak about deforestation’s environmental toll. The Treeline📖 places it in historical context that the Viking civilization collapse in Greenland was greatly due to deforestation and turf burning.

Also, these icelandic Pollens are mostly Betula nana, then shrub-like B. pubescens. The different growth form of the same species makes me wonder how statistically it's accounted for while modelling the growth form or other traits based on the detected species. More to find out ✨
My takeaway is that following deglaciation, Salicaceae typically arrived several thousand years earlier than Betulaceae, with the variation in this lag likely influenced by environmental factors such as distance from refugia.

As a PhD student, I always feel too hesitant to share my thoughts on social media, as I feel I know too little compared to the vast pools of knowledge. But maybe this is exactly why i shall try to share what I just learnt, so it could also welcome more facts and opinions.
