I should correct the date to around 1800, so a bit younger than 16th century. I will trust the archivist over the news article, so, not as old as I stated in my original post—but the tradition is older than both dates. :)

Studying Exodus 15:1-21 for preaching this weekend. A really cool thing in the Hebrew manuscript tradition (this one a 16th century Torah scroll):

The last ten months have been extra challenging with serious illness &bereavements of several family members. Had to dial back some things & step away from others in this new season. But summer has brought some space and hopefully that will mean serious traction on some projects.

(I was especially interested in seeing ektheses as possible indications of the segmentation of the text and whether said segmentation matched later critical editions and commentaries' views.)

A Deep Dive into the Discourse of the Deluge with Dr. Douglas K. Smith YouTube video by Hebrew Bible Insights

Thankful for Matthew Delaney & Dr. Nathan French interviewing me about my doctoral work in Genesis 6:9-9:17 for their Hebrew Bible Insights program. Preliminary remarks until an overview of the dissertation (3:50-37:04), followed by a friendly interview (37:04-58:43).

I see - the one they are pointing to. I've been out of the loop for a bit and had only heard of Dorico recently. Will have to look into it.

Is it a tacit concession to Sibelius? I have Finale 27 but was thinking of trying out Sibelius esp since it seems iPad-friendly. Still, very surprising news.
