Meanwhile, Boston has saved more money than the state is handing over to Comcast by running its own network.

So Massachusetts is acting as a conduit to funnel $18.8-million in tax dollars to corporations to create WiFi monopolies instead of just … building the service themselves.

The gas tax attempts to do just that as a metric of a car’s use and pollutant output.

At least from my experience, in Boston a fine gets issued in less than 24 hours and then the problem (usually) gets solved soon after. These neighbors trimmed their bush the day after they got a red violation envelope. 311 works!

Look, we know the tech billionaires—from Bezos & Zuck to Thiel & Musk—are actively coordinating to destroy civil society. They even say so in the Epstein files.

At this point, it’s time to detach from technology. Read a book. Join a club. Live in the real world before they burn it all down.

This is just a pretext to taking away student loans, federally-backed mortgages, and social security, right?

TL;DR: Dorchester is a coastal neighborhood, and the Morrissey Bvd plan must reflect that. Raising the road won’t fix the real issues: residents need safe routes, real waterfront access, & public spaces that work. If we rebuild this corridor, it should solve more than flooding & actually be useful.

A digital poster in the style of a World War II propaganda piece. Isolaed on a yellow background, a normal, squarish, 20-something guy with glasses is sitting working on a laptop. A ghostly figure of Hitler has his arm around the guy and is grinning and shaking a fist triumphantly looking at the laptop screen. On the lid of the laptop where an apple might otherwise be is an openAI logo, bright green, and dripping green ooze down the lid. Text on the poster, in combinations of sans-serif type and brush script reads:
Using Generative AI?
You’re prompting with Hitler!
GenAI is a Fascist Project!
Try using your brain instead
Don’t surrender your creativity to the tech billionaire’s control

I think they have different issue bases. My perception is that Erin Murphy is more associated with schools and public safety, two issues with high voter turnout.

Frank is more associated with yelling loudly at Mayor Wu and other members of the City Council.

Santana beats out Baker for final at-large seat; Culpepper wins District 7 seat - Dorchester Reporter The polls are now open in Boston's municipal election. Voters can pick up to four candidates out of a field of eight in the at-large city council race.

Can the billionaires and their lackeys please leave Boston alone now?

I’m so happy for Henry Santana and the rest of this City Council.

Oh, for sure. That’s why I have no hate to Dan Koh; he’s put in the work over a career to get those endorsements. Still, I think endorsers feeling so comfortable jumping in THAT quickly is because of the general lack of competition and expectation that only 1-2 “real candidates” 🙄 will jump in.

Seriously. No hate to Dan Koh, but looking at the dynamics of that race, it’s surprising how many endorsements were made so quickly. Now that more candidates have jumped in, I’m wondering if some endorsers will end up with buyer’s remorse. I think it’s driven by the general lack of competition in MA

I’m pretty sure “you will starve until you comply” is fascism.

But what do I know 🤷‍♂️

I volunteered to get the Dot Day Parade organized last year. Frank Baker REFUSED to get into his assigned spot in the lineup. Instead, he cut everyone to be in the front of Group 3. Unfortunately, there’s only so much pleading & insisting I could do in the face of his entitlement. This is who he is.

Boston councilor proposes higher property taxes on large apartments to help homeowners "The result would be that residential rates would be lowered across the city as a greater burden of the fixed Proposition 2.5 property tax revenue would fall on corporate landlords rather than on smal...

“Boston Councilor proposes making housing LESS affordable” is more accurate.

An apartment isn’t a commercial space. It’s a home that the councilor arbitrarily is making more expensive by increasing property taxes. He’s further hollowing out Boston’s middle class.

Seriously, who is this for? What could either of these people possibly have to offer on the topic of “civility”?

Whoever organized this should feel embarrassed, frankly.

I love how the new season of The Morning Show consistently has doing the right thing and speaking the truth bumping up against capitalism and individual ambition.

I can’t wait to see how this conflict doesn’t resolve by the end.

Wait, How Exactly Did ICE Manage to “Lose” More Than 1,000 Alligator Alcatraz Detainees? It appears that the agency is just as incompetent as it is cruel.

We don’t even know what’s happening there, or where their hostages actually are if they’re still alive, btw.

So they sic the masked secret police on us (ICE).

Then they set up the detention camps (Alligator Alcatraz).

Then they bring back the state-sanctioned murder.

How many people will we allow them to murder before we finally call it a Nazi concentration camp?

CVS knowingly dispensed 'massive' amount of invalid opioid prescriptions: DOJ lawsuit CVS is accused of "unlawfully dispensing massive quantities of opioids ... to fuel its own profits," according to a civil lawsuit filed by the Justice Department.

Let’s keep in mind, this is the same CVS that pumped America full of opioids through fraudulent prescriptions.

Why do we keep letting them get away with it? It’s the same playbook over and over again: pump up their profits through fraud, then file for bankruptcy when they get caught.

It’s genuinely infuriating that CVS gets to (1) poison seniors with drugs they don’t need, (2) steal from the public, then (3) wipe away the liability through bankruptcy.
