Today is the 2 year anniversary of when I met the Ravens. They just checked me out from a distance then! Here is some of my fav footage: them courting, feeding each other, barrel rolling and some of their vocalisations. They are the most amazing birds and I am so lucky to have them!

I got the 840 when it was on sale. I had the Wahoo Elemnt (v1) before. It took some time to get used to the 840, but I like it. I haven't used the on-the-fly nagivation features on it yet. I usually have routes programmed in Ride with GPS and sync it.

Feature specs of the Garmin 540 vs 840. 540 has 26h battery(32h solar), 16GB storage and basic navigation. 840 has 42h battery(60h solar), 32 GB storage and Advanced (address search, course creation) navigation.

Since you're already in the Garmin eco-system might it might be a better choice?
FWIW, the 540 non-touch vs 840 with touch (can also use buttons) have a few other differences that might be worth considering if the price is right (hope for a sale).

Rode up past a few cars and one of the attendants waved me right up to the unloading area. One of the guys was about to unload a car, stopped and proceeded to unload my trailer.

Took some electronics to an e-waste event near my place. Went by bike with a trailer and was able to bypass the line of people in cars.
