Less than 4 days ago, this same Minister said that child protection and online safety are more important than Irish citizens' human rights. Now he's saying, "Child Sexual Abuse Material what are you going to do, amrite?"

This is the same Irish politician who brought in a law designed to make it easier to deport children

What’s also great is reading the dialogue with Claude where it stops and says “I need to stop and be honest with you about something important” and reveals it deleted every single photo. Software built for dunces

I've studied so many concentration camps through history that held vulnerable people in just this kind of crowded squalor. You demonize people, you demand more arrests, this is what you get. It already has its own budget and its own momentum, and is on track to go much further, unless we stop it.

We’ve spent the last 48 hours coordinating the logistics and prep work necessary to get our soup run stationed at the GPO. When we got to the top of O’Connell Street, the Guards wouldn’t allow us to go through, but after much persuasion, they escorted us with a patrol car up to the GPO. Given the current situation, we truly appreciate them assisting us despite having their hands full.
We arrived and were surprised that the queue was not as large as expected. When we got there, a lot of people thought that we wouldn’t be able to get through. Soon the word got out and the queue became much longer.
Everything went well; we had a lot of food and donations. A huge shout out to little Amelia who came to our office and donated €50 from her birthday money as well as her Easter eggs—such kindness and beauty in such a young child. A credit to her mammy and daddy.
Tonight took a deeply upsetting turn. As we were finishing our service, we were approached by a group of five or six individuals carrying Irish flags. They began shouting xenophobic rhetoric, telling us this country is "only for the Irish," that we don't belong here, and that we should "go home."
In a beautiful show of solidarity, those around the GPO immediately spoke up, asserting that we are Irish. However, the situation turned hostile. Our Chairperson and founder was targeted with verbal abuse and told to "go back where she came from"—despite being from Coolock. It was clear that because she wears a hijab, her identity as an Irish woman was being questioned.

n 11 years of service, we have never experienced such verbal abuse. It was difficult to maintain the peace, but the homeless community—truly amazing people—stepped up to protect us. We are grateful that the situation eventually de-escalated and the Gardaí arrived to disperse the group.
Providing 300 meals to those in need only to be met with hate is sickening. But let it be known: we remain undeterred. We are united, and we will always be there for the less fortunate, regardless of their background. In Ireland, you don’t need an ID to receive a warm meal from a soup run.
We can’t do this without your constant support. If you would like to help us or donate, please visit https://msoe.ie/donate/.

If you are holding a protest and the racists show up to join in and you do not immediately and loudly tell them to fuck off you're no longer at a protest, you're at a racist rally.

Due to the protest and the blocking of O’Connell Street, we are unfortunately unable to access the GPO tomorrow evening.
We have made every effort to contact the organisers but have not been able to reach a lead contact. We have also spoken with the Gardaí, who currently do not have further information.
With great sadness, we have to cancel tomorrow’s soup run, as we rely on access for our transit van and six cars. This is especially difficult given that we have been running this service outside the GPO for 11 years.
We want to make it clear that we fully support the protest and understand the importance of standing up for change. We are also deeply concerned about the rising fuel costs and the lack of timely action.
We hope that by next week we will have more information or be able to coordinate access so we can continue providing this vital service.
Thank you for your understanding, and we stand with you.

The Muslim Sisters of Éire will not be able to provide their much appreciated soup run to folks in need due to the protest and the blocking of O’Connell Street.

Fun fact! There's a whole community dedicated to jailbreaking and modding kindles. You don't need to settle for this.

Now is the time to escalate BDS pressure!

When unions and left groups organised cost of living marches, farmers and small buisness owners were nowhere to be seen. They wouldn't be capable of considering solidarity for a fleeting second. Ireland is there for them and them only. Everyone elses role is to work their poverty wages.

Never seen an antiiwar, water or anti-austerity protest be left to do this sort of thing and cause this much disruption before.

If your Kickstarter video/image is AI, I won't back it.
If your book has an AI cover, I won't read it.
If you're a public supporter of AI use for creative work, I will unfollow you.
I cannot stress enough how offensive I find AI use in the arts. It is outright theft, it is lazy, it is gross.

A strategy ‘to make life intolerable’: Israeli settlers are driving Christians out of West Bank The Taybeh community has survived crusaders and the Ottoman and British empires, but the latest attacks leave its future in question

"What can Democrats do?"

When the South Korean president attempted to declare martial law, South Korean lawmakers literally fought through tanks and military forces and climbed fences to get into their Parliament building to stop him.

So, you know, that.

Screenshot if a draft post. Text reads: a lot of my friends say “you don’t even work hard and these degenerates just *give* you their money, maybe I should do your job too!” and I’m like really? have you any idea the amount of emotional labor this takes? are you gonna answer the phone at 3am because a guy’s wife kicked him out after he lost his wedding ring and now he’s desperate for some off-track action? are you gonna figure out how to cover the spread on whatever middle-of-nowhere college game your biggest whale wants to put a wager on? are you gonna spend time getting to know these people, hearing about their families and what they do for work, so that you know who to threaten and what you can break without risking income? this isn’t the glamorous life you think it is, nobody’s watching the ponies and counting cash. I mean, I am, but. it’s an annoying job.

The Iranian embassy in Iran quote tweets Trump's insane 'Fuckin Strait tweet with the comment:

"This low level of civility and intelligence shown by a leader of a country is regrettable; the shameful fervor with which intentions to commit war crimes are repeated is staggering; and the fact that the Divine is invoked regardless of ill intentions clearly exposes deep fanaticism. Apologies for sharing this language."

Trump's tweet reads: "Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!! Open the Fuckin’ Strait, you crazy bastards, or you’ll be living in Hell - JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah. President DONALD J. TRUMP"
