Today we welcomed society members to Litchurch Lane. They enjoyed a tour of some of Alstom’s train manufacturing facilities, and of course, a visit to 507001 complete with simulator. A thorough enjoyable day for all involved!

#OnThisDay 41 years ago the final Merseyside Wirral Electrics Class 503 service ran. The first batch was built by the LMS in 1938, this driving trailer M29276M was one of the originals: looking anachronistic here in the relatively new Liverpool Loop Line buff.ly/CyUtbto

Another brilliant weekend at Alstom Litchurch Lane for Team 507. Great to see some new faces visiting us for the first time to work on 507001.

IMPORTANT INFO: In order to reduce queues and ensure as many people as possible can have their turn, we will be using a timed ticket system. Come to see us when you first arrive at the show and we will give you the next available slot on the sim.

It's the closest you'll get to driving the real thing unless you travel back in time and apply for a job at Merseyrail. Our 507 simulator, powered by TS Controllers, is coming to Rainhill Model Rail 2026 this weekend. See you there!

On this day in 2015 - the Merseyrail megatrain! After multiple failures on the Wirral Line caused by ice on the third rail, a rescue train went out to fetch the stalled units, ending up with EIGHTEEN coaches by the time it reached Hooton. Our own 507001 is in there somewhere! youtu.be/tiTNqtZrT6U
