Greek mythical hero Meleager (one of the Argonauts) after the Calydonian boar hunt. Attributed to G. (Giacomo?) Della Porta. Similar to, probably based on?, the sculpture Meleager of Skopas (where the dog is also looking at the leaf).

Portait of a plucky painter in 'Sofonisba' at Washington Stage Guild Sofonisba Anguissola's special strength is her firm decision to run her life as she wants to, not as society seems to think is her duty.

" ... WSG’s irresistible comedy ..."

"Peter Boyer displays great versatility .... As the Bishop, he is careful and cautious. As the Fool, he is wildly funny. ... As Don Francisco, ... [he] is shy and sincere."

"Every aspect of the production is imaginative and truthful."

Heck of a week. The Age of Innocence opened Thurs @ Arena Stage. Next day, one understudy went in (planned), went well. Day after that, another understudy (me) went in (unplanned), that went pretty well, too. Here's me in my outfit from the end of Act 1. As you can see, I've let my hair grow out

Why I'm quitting the Washington Post Democracy can't function without a free press

"I’ve never had a cartoon killed because of who or what I chose to aim my pen at... there have been instances where sketches have been rejected or revisions requested, but never because of the point of view inherent in the cartoon’s commentary. That’s a game changer…and dangerous for a free press."

SANTA CLAUS knows if you're asleep or awake and if you've been bad or good, and at night he breaks into your house. We put up with his STALKER behavior because he gives us *stuff*. Some of us even reward this creepy & highly illegal behavior by giving him milk and cookies. Merry Christmas, enablers!

A Hayman sweet potato. Light green inside, with a subtler flavor then the standard orange sweet potato. Hard to find, unless you're on the Delmarva peninsula - I grew up on the Va part. Didn't know how rare they were until I tried to find them after moving elsewhere.
