The extra space for array properties in the editor is a very close second. ๐Ÿ™

The Godot contributors are knocking these QoL features out of the park recently.

Praise be! And all hail max width properties!

Seriously, supporting Steam Deck up through ultrawides in UI heavy games was rough previously. This feature will save a lot of time. Looking forward to 4.7!

My week has been more busy than I'd hoped, but I'm making some decent progress on this jam game. I got some jiggly burger physics implemented on "fishing" bait.

Just spent more time than I'd like to admit debugging why my Godot game would not close properly. Turns out there's currently a bug with accessing lambdas in static methods or autoloads. The one time I break my "no lambdas" rule... ๐Ÿ™ƒ

A side-by-side comparison of two screenshots from a placeholder game level. The left screenshot is labeled "WEB" and the right one is labeled "DESKTOP". The lighting and general color is very similar between the two, with the left shot having slightly more saturated colors.

Both screenshots depict green and yellow saturated landmasses with a collection of three tall skinny trees in center frame and part of a small floating platform to frame right. A player hotbar is displayed with 9 item slots. Only the 3rd slot contains an item icon.

Ok, got it solved. Sky mode in DirectionalLight3D set to anything other than "Light Only" seems to break lighting. Mipmaps of any sort break textures (at least when using nearest sampling).

It's built in the compatibility renderer so I guess I'm struggling with why the web build looks so much worse than the in-editor and desktop builds (which look the same). As far as I can tell I'm not using any web-incompatible world environment or camera settings features. ๐Ÿ™ƒ

Tried a web build of a little side project in Godot 4 and... yikes. I know web builds get more eyes/plays on itch, but this would probably drive more people away than it would attract.

Sadly, yes. I think its rooted in our nation's history in a way, and that has sort of snowballed itself into being part of our culture (for better or worse)

There are definitely times where I catch myself thinking, "It's fine. It'll all be fine" before realizing that actually no it isnt and wont ๐Ÿ˜…

I've written a book! Next Level: Making Games That Make Themselves is the story of procedural generation - the tech behind games like Minecraft and Dwarf Fortress. It's about how it works, the games that use it, and the art and magic behind it.
