The same rack is now rearranged and has much tidier cabling.
For years I've had to reach into this mess to swap from my work to personal PC, so I often just didn't and procrastinated stuff.
Finally gave in and bought the KVM and cables. I want to throw some control stuff for the lab in here too at some point. Feels great to finally sort this!
Car batteries connected to big power supplies.
A power resistor, approx 5 W. It's outer coating has flaked off.
A new TO-220 power resistor clipped to the chassis of the power supply and wired in.
Defibrillated some big batteries after they got over-discharged by their own charger...
Had to fix the big supply to do it, which had let the smoke out after I turned it on to test it. Output load resistor is now heatsunk to the chassis to keep it cool.
I like it when I get to be a little puppydog with my friends wruff wruff <3

Wanted to wash some stuffing, but pillowcases are a bit big for our washer. I was curious if I could make something smarter than just knotting the end of the bag.

Also upgraded the old paw driers to take USB-C power, and added a hose adapter to help drying at the bean end. Wildly inefficient use of the fan but it works Β―\_(γ)_/Β―

Hurried pre-NFC projects. The MalmΓΆ cobbles killed our old trolley, so I threw together a few parts to make a compact travel setup.
Works surprisingly well, but the wheels need some support to stop them kicking out when you hit big potholes. One to revisit before next year!

Experiment 2, now with a bit more care. Tried to make bridges vanish by elevating them. Unfortunately you have to get heavy with the paint to get it down the holes, then it wicks under the stencil. Also using radiator enamel paint on a cold day probably isn't wise...

Circuit schematic for the battery eliminator cable. It's a 9V zener shunt regulator.
Cable plugged into a lux meter.
Quick evening bodge. 9V battery eliminator since I never seem to have one with charge when I need it. Useful for the random little meters.

Old aerial socket was a touch too wide for the new triple socket, so I made a slightly narrower one (all low voltage on that side don't panic!)
