WRC (NBC) reports that the helicopter and the plane landed close to the shore. The plane is split in two and is resting in seven feet of water.
The helicopter is upside down and bobbing, sometimes on the surface and sometimes, under water.
Divers have gone into the plane, but not the helicopter.

BREAKING: Video shows 2 aircraft colliding over the Potomac River in Washington, D.C.
I should note that, if it weren't for the adjacent building, I'd be able to see the airfield from my home.
Although I live only a few miles from DCA and am in the approach path to runways 19 and 15, I did not see or hear anything regarding the reported accident. It is eerily quiet, though, for a Wednesday at 9:30pm.
There has been an incident at DCA airport in Washington, possibly involving a collision between two aircraft. The airfield is currently closed until further notice. Inbound aircraft are diverting. We will share more details as we learn them. flightradar24.com/airport/dca

Up to 84 in DC on 11/7. That's the highest temperature ever recorded here so late in the year.
In addition to all the other things it shouldn't be today (11/6), it probably shouldn't be 79F with a dew point of 63F at KDCA.
As we take-ify about the campaign, the fact that this situation is to a greater or lesser extent the product of sustained inattention, obtuseness, irrationality, & irresponsibility, and so to that extent formally inexplicable, will pose a persistent analytical challenge.

One of the benefits of voting early on Halloween was receiving this fun sticker! It was nice to be able to walk a few blocks to Courthouse Library to exercise my right to vote in such an important election. 🌊
