we're simplyyy not doing everything we possibly can to knowledge-share among indie TTRPGs. why is it so hard to just find... lists of cons? distributors? other stuff??? the board game people are doing it!! i extrapolate 80% of what i need to know by lurking board game creator forum discussions!!!

A much younger Stevie, approximately four years old, stares down the camera. They’re wearing Dora the Explorer pajamas and applying lipstick with one hand while holding back her hair with the other. There is lipstick across her eyes, eyebrows, and temples, almost resembling a goth or drag-esque makeup look.

A far more recent photo of Stevie, approximately a year ago, looking in a mirror while applying eyeshadow. They’re partway through a trad goth look, having a pale base, stark black contouring, and purple eyeshadow that spreads up to their brow and down their nose.

spent most of my plane ride doodling. not particularly happy with how any of the drawings came out but that’s okay because it’s still art that i, a real human person, made.

the myth of a post-covid world if you don't wear a mask, you're not as "woke" as you think you are

The cover image of a Substack article. Large text at the top reads “the myth of a post-covid world” and slightly smaller text below reads “if you don’t wear a mask, you’re not as ‘woke’ as you think you are.” The background image is a collage of many photos. There’s a graph with colored lines rising and falling, Stevie playing down in a hospital gown while wearing a KF-94 mask, COVID viruses, and more. Small text at the bottom of the image reads “disabledgothic.substack.com.”

a really cathartic essay to write. there’s a lot of disabled grief and anger in this one. really proud of the final product so i hope you’ll give it a read. 🫶

highly recommend going to see a Really Good production of into the woods with someone entirely unfamiliar with the show. it truly makes the second act all that much better.

“dungeons and dating” from the latest batch of phineas and ferb episodes leans a bit more larp than d&d, but it clearly pulls inspiration from the game

A mirror selfie of Stevie in a public restroom. They’re wearing black jeans, a black leotard, a black and white cardigan with a stripped and checkered pattern, a KF-94 mask, and lots of silver jewelry. They’re leaning on a platform crutch and smiling at the camera.

on my train today, the person in front of me was wearing a kf-94 mask. it was the first time in weeks i’d seen someone else masking and i nearly burst into tears. we really don’t talk enough about how isolating it is to be able to see visually just how little of the world cares about your life.

i was approached by a very old, very british woman who was absolutely fascinated by my outfit. i replied vaguely about how i simply enjoy dressing this way, which then prompted her to say “i think there’s a word for people who dress in all black— goth! are you goth?”

…yes.

I'm saying amazing things about you in conversations you don't even know, in rooms you aren't aware exist. It's true.

I wish I could engrave this upon your heart so that you know that people care about you even when you feel like no one does.

Especially with you feel like no one does.
