Dear heaven, such criminal lack of knowledge!
Landscape near Senekal.
How does someone become an MD without a basic understanding the basics of how science is done?
About half from the US, only 5 from Africa, fewer than 20 from Europe. That's nuts.
Only South Africa has grad ceremonies like this! From May grad at Fort Hare.

My beautiful Bonnie - such a cuddly bundle of love.
Been thinking about the festive coming up, and this great poem by Benjamin Zephaniah (worth reading the whole thing at benjaminzephaniah.com/books/talkin...):
Be nice to yu turkey dis christmas
Invite dem indoors fe sum greens
Let dem eat cake an let dem partake
In a plate of organic grown beans...
One year ago I was planning my husband's memorial. I miss him beyond words. So wish I could hike up the Magaliesberg with him one more time.
Beautiful lilac-breasted roller - yep, I'm seriously missing the bush!
Oh, I have to take a bush trip soon!
In the Drakensberg.
Dassies in a Johannesburg suburb - closest relative to the elephant!

The whole world knows this already. And he is so dangerous. His behaviour can do SO much harm to the instability, conflict and death toll in northern Nigeria et all. But you know this, too. Problem I see is, if he goes, his successor will use the same lying and simplistic narratives to win votes.
Superb. Also, great to see so much of the beautiful Sophie.
*snort*
Oh, it's lovely to see this Sophie-girl open up and really play! What the world needs now...
I've bn reading TP since the 80s. When I was a yoof, I thought he was "very funny". Now I find that comment a red flag: yes, he's funny, but if you don't see that the fundamental thing abt him is that he very funny IN THE SERVICE OF wild anger at injustice in any form, you don't know him at all.
…sin, young man, is when you treat people as things.

Today on my bird-feeder: Red Bishops (the males' plumage change almost complete); Masked Weavers, Crested Barbet; Glossy Starling; Cape Sparrows; Redheaded Finch... I woke up to the Crested Barbet's trill, they'll be raising young in my garden again this year!
Good girl!
Yep. Now let's see Daily Maverick tackle what he hasn't done for the other - always ignored - part of his portfolio, Arts and Culture.
Immediate freaked out reaction: it's against our culture/religion! Unknot yr knickers, people: you can choose NOT to take yr wife's name, you know. Unlike women, who for many years HAD to take their husband's.
