There's a few artwork which I've managed to push to the extreme in terms of details and rendering. Funnily enough, none of them are my favourites. Instead, these two simple ones here shares the forever first spot in my heart. The detailed ones grind me out, but these simple ones heal me.

Yup, the absolute feeling of dread churns my body when I attempt to paint semi realistic illustration today again. Semi-real has no future for me, and it has proven to be so for the past 10 years. I will just head down the anime path instead from now on, at least they make me happy.

That's actually kind of what I do, except that when I sketch, I want to be as accurate as I can which always ends up with me shrinking my brush to 1 or 2 px after 30 minutes or so with the 4 px brush and I just keep it that way until I finish hahaha.
Heyya Kohimizu-san! For canvas size when doing studies, assuming that we include the photo we are attempting to study, I highly recommend somewhere around 6000 pixels. As for brush size, start with 3~7 px when sketching. When detailing, go with 1 or 2 px, but there is no hard rule on this.
