Precisely my point? Kids should not have nor need a smartphone to access an internet that has evolved into an absolute hellscape of advertisement and social platforms designed to connect "adults". They can still have dumbphones, and TV had and still has scheduled rating hours.
Make it absolutely illegal for the underage to use devices connected to the internet and send their parents to JAIL for allowing them to do so, instead of tracking the living hell out of everyone on it. But that's your ultimate goal, of course; just quit it with the "protect the children" narrative.
