For any of you thinking of buying LotR: RtM - and using Steam... here you go...

omg, how annoying it would have to be for people watching the films with you, with me speaking the lines with every scene 😂
Glad my girl ❤️ does this, too 😊
#gratefulboy 😇💖
See, I'm glad so many of us have wonderful stories to tell.
Coincidentally, me and a friend went in costume and tried to read out Tolkien at our local premiere - and were thrown fruit and cans at because we kept the raucous crowd from watching the film! 😂 We were saved by a bunch of Nazgûl 👍
We welcome our #Westmoot26 attendees for a panel after the performance of The Hobbit! Panelists: Scott Gilbert, Director; Keven Lock, Set Designer; Isabelle Hopewell, Bilbo; Bryce Kalal, Ensemble/Thorin; Winifred Froelich, Ensemble/Gandalf; Adam Iverson, Ensemble/Kili/Smaug. #westmoot #intothewest
Yeah, saw that on the photos.
Not sure why the one is stamped while the other is handwritten but I'm not knowledgeable enough about end 70's, early 80's cinema marketing 😔😅🎦
I only made the connection a few years after listening to the adaptation, too... 😊

The easiest explanation for this would be a US version of it, simply translated - as there seem to be a couple of translation 'mistakes' in the German version. Looks great, anyway!
Absolutely - never seen this one before and would dearly love to know more about it 🤗
For Friday, a question...
Which Nazgûl are you?
(I'm top right at the back, if you're asking 😜💀)
Art by the awesome Allan Curless (c.1979)
Oh, that's a 100% test 😁
Luckily enough, we met through the largest Tolkien-centred event in the world, the Tolkien Tage in Germany, and the most successful German-speaking Tolkien podcast, Tollkühn 🤗
So ✅ right from the start 😇
Life isn't easy right now - particularly financially as I've had to more or less give up twenty years of being a freelance translator - but tonight me and my girl ❤️ realised that in almost four years of relationship we've never watched the EEs together.
Today is a good day. 😍🤗
Join the team from @tolkienguide.com later today as we talk to #Tolkien dealer Tom Ayling about the copy of Songs for the Philologists that he has recently aquired and has for sale. www.tolkienguide.com/modules/newb...
They're really popping, great choice (I know I am on a monitor with my W10 PC and a not so great graphics card but still! 😅)
They look awesome!
Ooh, that does look like decent quality - and on your own printer 🖨️😊💪
Always best to be independent! 👍
reparution (?) d'une itw de 2023 sur #JRR #Tolkien

Not sure, either, but this is so very much film-inspired that we are at least a degree or two away from him...

Yes, it does look like a certain scene from a certain film trilogy...
Just in Tehran.

Wished I could use those on postcards I send out from Oxford 🤩
Somebody is playing the clickbait game. 😅
Fun fact: They met - that is, Tolkien & L. Sprague De Camp.
"Practically anything in English literature, from Beowulf down, Tolkien had read and could talk intelligently about."
This is amazing to see - it is now more important than ever to speak with a unified voice to make clear how essential libraries are to society! 👍
I've been known to state that "Lee Pace is a god" - when he graces the screen his Thranduil moves with an elegance that some may call "elvish."
It's a pity he had to portray Weird-duil that only barely resembles the book version(s) but that's neither here nor there...
I'll watch the film for him.
