Haven't been around much, grieving my Beastie's passing. Trying to find all the shattered pieces of a heart is a uniquely laborious process. One wants the pain to be gone, but the memories not to fade & or the joy to fade.

Said the long goodbye to my sweet, wee Beastie on March 26. She was 15, confused, tired, and in pain. I held my precious treasure in my arms and murmured all of my love to her as she went to sleep. It was the responsible thing to, but I am still not okay. I don't know when I will be again.

This is a sterling silver baby spoon that I rescued from a parcel of "scrap" silver that I found too lovely to melt down.

Margaret is a mystery I'll never solve, but I like to imagine who she may have been. She was loved enough to merit an engraved spoon & possibly the year of her birth.

Musk aides gain access to sensitive Treasury Department payment system The access, granted by Scott Bessent, Trump’s newly confirmed treasury secretary, comes after the ousting of the agency’s top career official.

There are no words in any human language adequate to describe my rage. Elon Musk is a criminal who must be stopped.

You have a beautiful work space. I deeply admire your storytelling AND your embroidery. Followed you over here from Meta.

Women didn't get the vote by being demure and staying home. Slavery didn't end because people went to therapy and talked things out.

Fuck the sad.

Fuck the stunned disbelief.

Time to find some rage, and fucking FIGHT.

But even progressives are like, "I'd accept higher taxes for universal health care."

We wouldn't have to pay higher taxes at all. Just GET RID OF FOR-PROFIT MEDICINE. Get rid of medical insurers & all LMPs are government employees/contractors or they don't get to practice.

If there was universal healthcare and the profit motive for hospitals was legislated out of existence, the resulting taxes for Americans would be far less than rates for private insurance. It's not hard to understand.

Completely take private health insurance out of the picture. By law, every hospital and licensed medical professional has to accept the public option. Government negotiates the compensation for every service, medication & procedure; Americans would pay LESS than for private insurance.

The Pacific Northwest is really a beautiful, unique place. I just couldn't deal with the conservatism anymore of the politics on the east side of both states. Didn't like the cost of real estate, the way it was developed, and the rising crime on the west side. So...moved.

Needed a reminder today, one week before Felon47's inauguration, that there used to be beauty and light in the world. This collage is something I made years ago and dug up this morning.

I'm still MAD that I needed to be admitted; Beth Israel Deaconness in Needham, MA turned me away 3x, refused to look at records of prior hospitalizations AT THAT FACILITY, wrote down BS diagnoses, ignored my actual DX, treated the BS DX, & sent me home to die. Went to another ER, & they admitted me.

1 year ago 0 0 1 0

Yeah, those same ERs with real emergencies will also essentially slap a bandaid on a hemorrhage, bill you a couple grand beyond what your insurance covers, and tell you to follow up outpatient with some specialist you can't see for 8 months to a year.

Every video or photo of Zuck I've ever seen, he has this shark-eyed dead-ish look to his eyes. Creepy AF. There is something profoundly messed up inside his head.

Also want to point out that even private, hidden FB groups are not invisible or private to FB employees. If it's a progressive political group, it is virtually guaranteed to be under scrutiny by Meta itself. It's *not safe* anymore, no matter how diligent the mods/admins. 😢

(2/2) I think if they won't even consider other venues, and won't acknowledge the now-guaranteed hazards of the platform, my attachment to them is probably pretty one-sided. And they probably don't take sensible security precautions that would also put me at risk, as their friend.

(1/2) I know how you feel. I have similar issues.

I decided that I won't keep traveling to see friends/family in an area with A LOT of violent crime, risking my personal safety and property, solely because those people--who *could* easily meet up somewhere mutually safer--*can't be bothered*.

@psawld.bsky.social FB is going to get awful really fast. With its new policy friendly to the far right, we need to worry about Meta itself monitoring the group. Meta itself can see any content posted on its platform. It might be a good idea to make that distinction clear to group members on FB.

Rest in grace, President Jimmy Carter. You lived an exemplary life and leave behind a beautiful legacy. May you now be reunited with your beloved Rosalynn, free of all pain and sorrow.

Millionaires and billionaires would be perfectly FINE not getting salary for 33 days, or even 333 days.

The average American, folks like you and me working paycheck to paycheck, would not. Do NOT let billionaires make decisions for US.

PASS IT ON.
