Heavily considering doing another of a more humanoid character I've been meaning to draw more of next week. I can also explain most decisions behind each style where I'm tempted to write up an analysis of this piece.

I think I agree, it's something where I was hoping to have one choice stylistically but I think keeping it in mind for the image leads to a better result.
The only downside is having it more subtle doesn't show the lines quite as much when I'm rather happy with how they're turning out lately xD

Wasn't sure if I liked the banner so dark and wanted to do a test with an ice theme out of curiosity. Not sure which one I want to end up using, and I'd the darker lines are better vs more subtlety

Agreed, if nothing else just exploring different styles with this method feels really rewarding xD
At least it's some of the most fun I've had drawing, so going to see if I can push it further before having to see if there's compromises I'll have to make.
I still have a month or two I'm spending to recover a bit and get in a better spot for work. There's just worry about if there's a valid direction to go once that time is up.
That, and if this stylization warrants the potential cost if I was to start doing commissions more again. Mostly just feeling a little lost on what direction to go for a career while doing personal practice, where there don't seem to be many good options from the decisions I've made.
Tbh my concern is more if this stylization is something that I could continue doing if wanting to work in the games industry, or if I even have something setting me apart vs others where I'd be someone considered for a project.
It's really a lot of fun drawing this way where I hope I can continue forward with this methodology, even if it isn't quite as intense a result as above/some of the previous pieces I've done.

Grew up always wanting to draw Pokemon for a living. It's probably not something I'll be able to do, but wanted to do some personal tests to understand the style more just for myself.

Luckily it should be very straightforward to recover! I just can't use my left hand/arm right now, and while pain meds are helping keep things stable it's messing with my balance when standing.
