This is glaringly obvious to everyone except for the faces of corporate media, who desperately want to walk a red carpet

1983 was a banger year.
Without revealing your age, post your favorite film releases from the year you turned 18. So many choices.
this is just a warmed over david duke speech from 1990
Link to the ruling. I am not sure I’ve seen a judicial opinion with this many tweet screenshots in it before storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...
You can see it in this shot.
No, the firearm has a flash hider on the end of the barrel in one of the shots. Thats not a shotgun it’s a rifle. The range is probably to far for birdshot or really any shotgun round. Great shooting.
This is the most incredible shit I’ve ever seen.
If you thought OH-58 drivers firing rifles and dropping grenades out of their cockpits was cool, wait until you get a load of Ukrainian pilots flying 1970s prop planes and blasting drones out of the sky.
I fucking love these crazy bastards.
In that case I have a message of love and compassion to everyone who supports Trump
“When the President said it’s open, he meant it’s open —- for BUSINESS.” Some Trumpist loser on the shows this weekend
For a Boise family of medical providers, Idaho criminal trans bathroom ban was the last straw This year, Idaho Legislature approved trans bathroom ban, forcing teachers to out trans kids to parents, and re-banning LGBTQ+ pride flag displays by government
The Devitts have seen the Idaho Legislature and the governor approve a wave of anti-LGBTQ+ bills in recent years. Michael and Dr. Angie Devitt, both medical professionals, watched their trans daughter, Eve, testify against a bill years ago that outlawed gender-affirming care for minors. But this year’s criminal transgender bathroom ban — described by advocates as the most extreme in the nation for extending to private businesses — was the couple’s last straw. So early this month, Michael Devitt notified patients that his practice, Focus Physical Therapy, would shut down at the end of August as his family prepared to move out of Idaho. “Obviously, this law is a disaster for families like ours,” he wrote in a letter. “We can no longer take a road trip across our beloved state, or even enjoy a family night out at a restaurant, or a movie, without running the risk of Eve being charged and sent to a prison merely for using the facilities.”
A family of doctors in Idaho with a teenage trans daughter describes their decision to close their practice and leave the state after the governor signed a law last month threatening her with a felony charge and five years in prison if she uses any women's restroom
Tump calling someone a little tacky is like Aquaman calling someone a little damp

Well, today we're taxing the rich...
This is Washington Post columnist Marc Thiessen
He just called on Trump to assassinate the Iranian delegation.

One of the most consistently infuriating things about the criminal legal system is how little anyone in a position of authority cares about determining what does and does not work.
Disappointed, though not surprised, I began to describe various life- saving components of USAID’s global health portfolio, highlighting how we prepare for and respond to emerging pandemic threats; support the diagnosis and treatment of tuberculosis, malaria, and HIV; and immunize millions of children from the deadliest childhood diseases. I spoke for about five minutes, focusing primarily on our infectious diseases work and hoping to keep the attention of people who seemed to have no experience—or interest—in global health. When I finished, the room was silent, the political appointees looking at one another in what appeared to be disbelief. The silence was broken by Ken Jackson, who chuckled softly and shook his head. “Wow, there really is so much that USAID does that we never knew,” he said. “This is the story that needs to get out there.” Joel, also smiling, chimed in next, echoing Jackson’s amazement. “I had no idea you did all this,” he said. “As a Republican, when I think of what USAID does in global health, I assumed it was just, you know, abortions.”
This is NUTS

As @gregdoucette.bsky.social would say, cops are great
At trial, 6 hours not counting breaks. For a depo it was 7 hours. Fun times.
Now, you might say, "What about all the knowledge we'd lose if we push all the abusive geniuses out of academia?!"
But I'd counter and say, "Well, what about the knowledge we've already lost from the budding scholars whose careers they've derailed with their abuse?"
/2 I’m at peace with the fact I’ll probably never match this.
Not gonna happen. Just aim for 51 - and hope to get lucky.
And attorneys I work with tell me it is so hard to get mirandized statements thrown out even when coercive. Def’ts with obvious severe intellectual deficits being manipulated. Someone asking for a lawyer and then badgered (gently) into talking some more.
➡️ Sadly Miranda is very limited: someone only has to be Mirandized if prosecutors want to use a custodial statement 1️⃣ at trial 2️⃣ to prove guilt
➡️ Custodial statements are evidence, and can also be used for other purposes. See US v Patane, 542 US 630 (2004); Michigan v Tucker, 417 US 433 (1974); etc
THE GWOT IS FOREVER WAR. Too many folks stopped paying attention because we pulled out of Afghanistan. but the war continues, we bomb, shoot, and black bag folks every day all across the world. it didn't stop under Biden, it hasnt stopped under Trump & it will never stop until we demand it to stop.
