Unlocking atomic detail in seconds: Apollo enables high-speed, low-dose MicroED for microscale and nanoscale crystals—accurate structure solutions in less than a minute of data collection.
Learn more about these groundbreaking results: directelectron.com/unlocking-at...
What if your TEM could run #microED and solve structures on its own?
Just insert your sample—watch the structure appear.
No human picks. No manual tweaks.

Direct Electron Applications Scientist @bdalev.bsky.social & European Sales Manager Eddie Regan were recently in France to install not just one but TWO of our Direct Detectors, Apollo & Celeritas, at @ipcmslab.bsky.social Strasbourg.
@cryomariena.bsky.social I'm heading to MMC in the UK on July 1st. If you're still interested then, let me know.
If I meet anyone looking for an electron microscopist, I'd be happy to pass on your info.
Our materials applications scientist, @bdalev.bsky.social answers how our direct detectors enhance the speed, sensitivity, and resolution of In Situ TEM, enabling you to capture elusive phenomena and gain valuable insights!

Unthinkable just 10 years ago:
Almost 3/4 of the EU’s electricity in 2024 was from renewable energy sources and nuclear.
Gas and coal electricity generation is at record low levels.
We recently added several groundbreaking new publications featuring our products to the extensive database in our Learning Center! Check them out or watch product webinars, read tech notes, and see recently presented posters!

Purely random thought for the day. The Heard and McDonald Islands have no human population. Penguins are among the most common animals found there, including the Eastern Rockhopper (pictured).
Maybe we just need to translate the name into English, and start saying that "Fish Noise" is a fundamental limitation instead?
From now on, I will assume that you can reload a Napoleonic era musket or rifle and fire it at 6-rounds a minute or faster!
If they pronounced it "Dr Poison", it wouldn't sound so .....off, but when pronouncing Poisson, Americans tend to stress both vowels, so POYs-On. It's just wrong.
One bugbear though - foreign name pronunciation.
Dear Americans,
De Broglie is pronounced like De Broy, not like De Bro Glee.
Poisson is pronounced like Pwas On, not like Poys On.
A little effort in this area would be greatly appreciated!
A colleague forwarded me this great introductory video on #atomicresolution #electronmicroscopy 🔬. Worth checking out!

There's a Chrome/Firefox browser extension called Sky Follower Bridge, that can be helpful for finding people from the other site.
You do have to be careful not to accidentally follow someone who merely has the same name as someone you know though.
For those new here (or returning now that it's more active), this starter pack is really useful for #CryoEM and #CryoET

I thought IRE vs NZ would be the best game of the weekend, but FRA vs SA was incredible!
