30 backpacks and 138 pairs of shoes on the capitol lawn, memorializing the 168 children killed in the Minab school airstrike.
30 backpacks.
138 pairs of shoes.
168 people — children, parents, and teachers — lost to a senseless war.
Today on Capitol Hill we’re memorializing the children killed in the Minab school strike, and demanding accountability for a disastrous war that Congress never authorized.
“Anyone who has watched pro football games on TV has heard the disclaimer — “any rebroadcast or other use of this telecast without the express written consent of the NFL is prohibited.”
I was in a 2 hour briefing today on the Iran War. All the briefings are closed, because Trump can't defend this war in public.
I obviously can't disclose classified info, but you deserve to know how incoherent and incomplete these war plans are.
1/ Here's what I can share:
My remarks on the War Powers resolution.
ENDORSEMENT ALERT 🚨
I am honored to have the endorsement of Representative Greg Casar, Chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus. In Congress, we’ll fight for Medicare for All, good-paying jobs, and for our working-class families. Let’s keep this momentum going! 🤝🏽

In this entire piece there is not a hint of even a semblance of a legal argument for how a war of this scale would be legal or authorized.
There is quite simply no legal or constitutional authority for Trump to launch a war of choice against Iran.
None. Zero. Nothing.
It's now crystal clear that the Administration cares more about Big Chemical profits than the health of Americans.
The batshit crazy EO Trump signed last night says the production of glyphosate is "critical" for national security.
BULLSHIT.
This is outrageous. How the hell is this MAHA?!?
Trump officials say there's a 90% chance of strikes on Iran. He can’t without Congress.
Rep. Thomas Massie & I have a War Powers Resolution to debate & vote on war before putting U.S. troops in harm’s way. I will make a motion to discharge to force a vote on it next week.
We can't fall into right-wing populism’s lie that the most vulnerable in society are to blame for wealth inequality in our countries. We need to build movements that tell the truth: the story of wealth inequality is not a cultural one, but a class one.
"Every day, I wake up and see the news and I'm horrified. I think it is crazy that some people make it sound like it's acceptable, like the murder of civilians is acceptable." - Victor Wembanyama says about the killings in Minnesota

STATEMENT FROM THE NATIONAL BASKETBALL PLAYERS ASSOCIATION (NBPA) AND ITS EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE ON THE FATAL SHOOTING IN MINNEAPOLIS BY ICE
Federal agents killing people in the streets is an assault on the right of all Americans to be safe.
Senate Democrats must reject funding for ICE this coming week and demand an end to this madness.
Doing anything else would be a tacit endorsement of the terror and chaos in our streets.
Democratic Leadership just announced that they will join @usprogressives.bsky.social in opposing funding for ICE and CBP this week. Dems in array.
CPC Chair Emerita @jayapal.house.gov and Deputy Chair @repilhan.bsky.social are in Minneapolis-St. Paul to lead an accountability hearing on the brutality and violence that Trump’s ICE is inflicting on the community. Watch here starting at 10am EST: youtube.com/live/bfVji76...
This could be the unified Dem position. It is wildly popular. Puts the regime on defense on two fronts at the same time. Good policy, good politics.

It’s not about drugs. If it was, Trump wouldn’t have pardoned one of the largest narco traffickers in the world last month.
It’s about oil and regime change.
And they need a trial now to pretend that it isn’t. Especially to distract from his sinking under Epstein and skyrocketing healthcare costs.
Trump has no right to take us to war with Venezuela. This is reckless and illegal.
Congress should vote immediately on a War Powers Resolution to stop him.
My entire life, politicians have been sending other people’s kids to die in reckless regime change wars. Enough. No new wars.
For many people, this time of year can be challenging. Be gentle with yourself and those around you, take breaks, and be well this holiday season.
Today I received FOUR death notifications for people in ICE custody. That's 30 deaths since Trump took office. It's appalling & unacceptable.
ICE is required—by law—to ensure detainees are safe & their basic needs are met. It's clear this isn't the case. We NEED answers.
The @usprogressives.bsky.social leadership is urging support for this critical resolution. No war with Venezuela.
My ACA current plan is going from $385/mo to $821/mo.
Deputy Chair @repilhan.bsky.social on the CPC’s official position opposing the Senate government spending deal:
“It’s a betrayal of working people and massively fails to address the urgent needs of the American people. The Progressive Caucus stands united in opposing this sham deal.”
Ezra Levin on Bluesky: “I'm hearing the same thing. Dems are nearing a surrender. I'm shocked. Largest protest in history + best election night in years + polling showing we're kicking their ass in public opinion. And now Dems may cave. It ain't over til it's over, so please do call if you've got a Dem senator.”
🚨 We’re hearing that Senate Democrats are on the verge of caving to Trump in another “Schumer Surrender.”
That means your Democratic senators need to hear from you right now.

Democrats won big by fighting against Trump’s attempts at tyranny and pledging to do everything in their power to make America affordable for everyone.
We strongly welcome @usprogressives.bsky.social’s decision to endorse the Block the Bombs Act, introduced by @ramirez.house.gov, which blocks the sale and transfer of a series of highly destructive weapons to the Israeli government: bsky.app/profile/uspr...
NEWS: The Congressional Progressive Caucus — which represents nearly 100 members in Congress — has just voted to endorse the Block the Bombs Act, to block weapon sales to Israel.
First time any major congressional caucus has backed legislation to end US aid for Israel’s destruction of Gaza.

Work requirements don’t create jobs. They just kick people off food + health care, saddle states with costs, and strain already fragile hospitals.
