I am struggling to find the words to describe how heavy this week has been. My anxiety is at a breaking point, and I feel like I am drowning. I’ve had to take a significant amount of time off work recently due to my own ongoing medical issues. Being the sole provider for my trans disabled wife while navigating my own health is a burden I simply cannot carry alone anymore. The lost wages have left us in a hole that feels impossible to climb out of without a community behind us. The climate here in Ohio is terrifying and is a constant drain on our mental health. Between the House passing HB 249, the K-College bathroom ban, and the ongoing state battle to ban gender-affirming care (HB 68), we are living in a state that is actively trying to legislate my wife out of public existence. We are exhausted from being in survival mode every single day. We urgently need $400 for rent due by May 1st. Because of my medical leave, we are short on our most basic necessity: a safe place to live. Please, if you can help, don't let us lose our home. Even $5 or $10 is a lifeline that keeps us safe for another month.
