A cross stitch work that features a skull with the top of its head cut off. A chipped teacup pours black coffee into the empty skull, and pours out of its eye sockets. Steam gently curls away from the coffee.
The second cross stitch of the set. A skeleton hand bursts out of a cup of black coffee. It is making the 'peace' hand gesture with a whole coffee bean held between the two outstretched fingers. The work is in progress, it is inside a hoop and a needle holding light brown thread for steam sits to the side on a needle minder.
The third of the set in progress. The empty eye socket of a skeleton head cup is halfway done, appearing and though it is winking. Much like the first, the top of the skull is cut off. Differently, this skull has a handle attached to the back to show that it's a cup.
All three pieces finished and laid side by side.
The first is the skull without a top with coffee being poured into it from above. The second is the skull mug, and features a hand bursting out from the coffee within the mug, holding a whole coffee bean between its forefinger and thumb. The third is a regular coffee cup with a skeleton hand bursting out of the coffee in a 'peace' sign while holding a whole coffee bean between its outstretched fingers.
This was a project I did for my best friend for Christmas! I learned loads, including how to be mindful of shadows and how to keep your canvas tight in a hoop.
