Basque place was not what I expected. Their offerings were “inspired by”, not actual basque cuisine. Meh.

Museum event was good. Went through the current exhibit of Frida Kahlo art. She had a lousy life. But inspired so many others!

Supposed to rain tomorrow. I’ll find things to do indoors.

It’s Friday and the ladyfriend is already asleep. Her work week was typical which means stressful. Tomorrow afternoon we’ll try a Basque restaurant before attending an event at the Houston museum of fine arts. Going to get a little culture.

Normal looking old guy tagging a wall.

But then I’m not really doing this. Picked up a stray spray paint can for a humorous photo op.

Probably a wannabe tagger using stickers for a bit of fame. I’d guess the “tagger” likes stickers because it’s quick to slap one on a wall or pole and keep moving rather than rattle can tagging which takes time, effort, and creativity. Here I am touching up work in the Krog tunnel in Atlanta. 😏

Two years ago today I was on the tall ship Elissa out of Galveston for a day sail.

Elissa is a square rigged iron-hulled barque launched in 1877.

All sail was set and we made around 7 knots. I was thrilled to be on deck and able to help work lines, briefly. 😁

Dang.

My kid and I would watch together. If she wasn’t already in the room when the episode started, I’d crank up the teevee volume and she’d show up immediately.

Spent a few days in New Orleans for the first time in a while. It’s still crowded with tourists but the food is good. Took a swamp tour, saw birds and critters. Gators were in the 4-6’ range. The guide would toss out protein pellets to attract them close to the boat.

Your photo- this year or previous? We talked with one of the safety guys and he remarked this year’s turnout was the lowest he’d seen.

It was our first time to paddle.

We paddled a canoe for 14 miles on the Buffalo Bayou in Houston last Saturday. The event is a “regatta” sponsored by the organization that oversees the trails and public spaces along the waterway.

Here’s the ladyfriend taking a break to check out the sights along the bayou.

I’ve seen it called “space fantasy”, but when you get right down to it, it’s science fiction. Space ships, aliens, “ray guns”. It’s all there.

O_o Jeepers! Sort of like my sector, but here it’s the random all-day heavy rain that floods underpasses and the lane outside my place. Or occasional hurricane.

My current location. I’m helping one of my sisters move, we’re driving a Uhaul truck to Fort Collins, CO.

Traveling up I-25 through Raton when it’s dark is not highly recommended in my opinion. Zero stars. Especially after already spending 12.5 hours on the road.

We survived. 😁

Tried to watch some of the state of the union. Couldn’t stomach more than a few minutes. He spewed lies, insults, and behavior unbecoming of a person in that office.

Btw I found that marker with his visage that I saw a couple weeks back- I repositioned it in fresher material.
