I wish everyone could have a doctoral advisor like @amypeeler.bsky.social. Really grateful to have learned from and worked with you for the last five years.

My doctoral defense program
What an incredible day yesterday defending my doctoral dissertation. I’m grateful for my committee Drs. @amypeeler.bsky.social, Ryan, and Carroll, and external Dr. Hylen for reading & interacting with my work. I’ve dreamed about this day for a long time and will remember it for the rest of my life.

Let’s get this dissertation defense week started. ✈️
Such a helpful post for using a search engine like a researcher.
This is really well said Erin.
Oooh thank you! This is really helpful to know!
Ew.
Put it on a coffee mug.
I really enjoy Brandon Sanderson’s writing. Normally I recommend starting with his Mistborn trilogy.

Really thrilled for @gingersnapkid.bsky.social and her dissertation submission!
I submitted my doctoral dissertation this morning! I can’t believe it!
A truly great 🧵 on the how you have to train to be a good writer and thinker just like an athlete has to train for competition.
Congratulations! What a great position!
Really pleased to announce I submitted my doctoral dissertation, “Female Patronage and Authority: Position for the Purpose of Service in the Early Jesus Movement” for a spring defense yesterday.
I would love a copy! This looks fantastic!
This is fantastic news.
Jewish epitaph from Rome, written in Greek
Does anyone have a Greek epigraphy reading list that they'd be willing to share? We have a grad student who is interested in complementing their work in Latin epigraphy, and while I've done some work on inscriptions, I am certainly not an epigrapher!
Image for visibility...
I’d also recommend D. Clint Burnett’s Studying the New Testament through Inscriptions. While tailored forwards New Testament studies, Burnett does an excellent job of introducing the reader to Greek epigraphy and resources.
It’s definitely on the more technical side, but should be good for a graduate student.
My go to source is B. H. McLean’s An Introduction to Greek Epigraphy of the Hellenistic and Roman Periods from Alexander the Great down to the Reign of Constantine (323 B.C.–A.D. 337)
Always.
