Fun fact: Women's sports are segregated not to protect women, but to protect *men* from losing *to* a woman.

Don't believe me? Look up Jackie Mitchell. Struck out Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig. Then suddenly women were unfit to play baseball.

Saw a thing about first-person POV, where some readers have trouble with it because they think the book is about THEM doing whatever the character is doing, and they can't relate because the character sometimes makes decisions they wouldn't make.

I'm not entirely sure how to process this info.

Fuck P3s; what am I paying taxes FOR, if not to fund community access to rinks, parks, and pools?!? If they stopped throwing the biggest chunk of the budget at cops, we could pay for all of this 10x over, FFS!

Wish people could just learn it's OK to not like stuff and simultaneously leave it alone. The internet gave everyone main character syndrome and an unearned perception of importance.

Eliminating libraries in prisons is a disaster, completely shortsighted. Libraries are a lifeline for incarcerated people who want to learn and grow, and have few other options.

When people are like, "Where is the money for X going to come from?" I'm like, the police budget. The money you are looking for is in the police budget. It's in police contracts (many of which mandate an annual increase--PVD's does) & police pensions, but it's also in things like the supply budget
