Rocky's Boots (1982) (The Learning Company) : Free Borrow & Streaming : Internet Archive Rocky's Boots is an educational logic puzzle game by Warren Robinett and Leslie Grimm, published by The Learning Company in 1982. It was released for the Apple...

This strongly reminds me of a game called Rocky's Boots from 1982. I have been wondering what the modern equivalent might be! archive.org/details/Rock...

Oh, North Van. I always had the impression they literally hate everyone who's not in a car _right now_

I say this earnestly, who the hell is arguing against sidewalks anywhere within city limits? Have I pre-shunned these people?

Perhaps it was opt-in for those of us who used it before the feature was introduced; I have never verified my phone number with them when prompted, so I've never needed to opt-out.

Isn't this opt-in in the first place? Like you don't have to turn it off, just don't ever intentionally turn it on?

How are we able to perform affective theory of mind so quickly? Out of all the hundreds of possible socio-emotional states, how are we able to make a judgment of what a person is expressing (e.g. in their facial expression) in less than a second?

Sovereignty preferred, but not mandated: Canadian AI Sovereign Compute program prioritizes but doesn’t mandate data residency, is ok with companies contractually controlled but not owned by Canadians, and must only limit instances of foreign access to data.

I wonder what the CO2 impact is *just* from the reduction in running car air conditioning to cool them down after being left in the hot sun.

Striking that the Liberals and Conservatives offer the same response to pain at the pump: siphon money out of the public purse instead of Big Oil’s profits.

Hey you know how the Right was laser focused on learning illiberal strategies from Orbán in order to pervert and weaponize the state?

Now is the time to learn from the dismantling of that regime, including a relentless effort to prosecute them for their crimes.

Opinion: On Canada’s high-speed rail plan, the numbers just don’t add up Pierre Poilievre has found a principled, conservative position on the Alto project

Canadians + Americans go to Europe and Asia, ride fast electric trains, come back home, and ask: "Why can't we have nice things here?"

It's because, at a crucial point, commentators like Andrew Coyne make the tired argument that sustainable transport is just too darned expensive.

There are many things I’m very proud of as a Canadian. MANY things. But every time I watch another media story about another ambitious push in renewable energy from China, I’m embarrassed that Canada isn’t aggressively working to quickly become a true global powerhouse in renewable energy.
