Every day, all over the country, people get released like this. I volunteered waiting outside a detention center for releases since 2018 and they are all like this. Family notified across the country that day, released in clothing they entered in 6 months ago, no phone, money, OR IDEA WHERE THEY ARE

I don’t know! I hate it. It’s also like this tiny segment of people that aren’t yet fifty and also aren’t young enough to have gotten chicken pox vaccine. So basically only people born 1977 to 1993ish?

So my doctor also had some explanation (not sure how accurate) about being unsure on how long it’s effective and how it’s important later because of the dementia issue?

My doctor told me she thought I could just go get it, it just wouldn’t be covered, I tried that at my local pharmacy and they said no. I heard a rumor that CVS will, though. My doctor knows it’s my goal and is ok with it but won’t prescribe it. Otherwise, 8 more years.

Successful Pitches One of the hardest parts of freelance writing is the mysterious art and complicated science of writing pitches.

My little pro-bono project, www.successfulpitches.com is back online after some security and formatting issues. It's a resource to see what pitches that got commissioned look like. For folks new to the industry, it's a peek at what good ones look like.

We recently acquired the first automatic transmission car of either my husband or my adult life, and it only took me two months to almost die because I pressed on the brake like it was a clutch. (On the curve at the north end of green lake on Aurora.)

People who don't like writing want to be writers for the same reason people who hate working out want to be Olympians

Because by the time the final product at the highest level gets to you, it seems cool as hell and no one is broadcasting the practices. Hope this helps!

Oh my gosh, I am so sorry to hear this, and also I hate that “the system” requires labels and also that we somehow don’t have adequate language for this kind of thing.

I have a vague memory of their first biz making a claim that bagels aren’t really Jewish. This one made a video on the history of bagels, the first bit on bagels being Polish, the second is “that’s wrong they are actually Jewish.” The last bit points to simit and notes “everyone had round bread.”

Thrilled to report the new hype bagel places bagels are mediocre so I don’t have to wrestle with my feelings on their borderline antisemitic social media.

Just tripping on repression and falling into facism. So convenient!

Simultaneously, they mock & degrade women athletes for not being athletic enough, and then when a few of us are that athletic, they say we must not be real women. The end state of this reasoning is a world where “real” women don’t — and then can’t — play sports. Policing gender hurts women athletes.

The weekend I visited the college I ended up going to, it snowed, was 90 degrees, and there was an earthquake. But I was an athletic recruit and didn’t really have much in the way of options.

It’s funny because when the meme about “the incident” at your HS goes around, I am always like “too many!” Which is why I, and most people I talked to about it, only have vague recollections of this.

FWIW I was thrilled that my older daughter connected with I want to go home as much as I had but we did have to have a talk before she actually went to sleep away camp that… she couldn’t actually do that.

This is a great story and also yes, I did visit the Rico’s nacho cheese company museum when I was in San Antonio, and yes, I do know why more people don’t listen to my travel advice.

I know I posted this on Twitter, but we are here now, so… Like the third most interesting thing about Officer Cookie is that she taught D.A.R.E. to my 5th grade class. (Spoiler alert: it didn’t work.)
