Here's what happens if Judge Boasberg holds Trump administration in contempt over El Salvador deportations A federal judge said he could recommend criminal prosecutions against the Trump administration, setting up an unprecedented showdown.

So, nothing bad happens to the administration because they have to decide whether to prosecute themselves? #makeitmakesense

I don't think anyone was expecting a different result, but he does get points for trying, I guess

This is an Orvelliean nightmare! There's so much breaking going on right now that I'm afraid we will end up with a Humpty Dumpty situation (broken and unfixable) when these guys are all voted out or kicked out by Congress.

Hope someone is compiling a list of things that will need fixing

I think you are too. Authoritarian figures always want to control media narrative, research and academia - and all other pillars of free society so they can implement their agenda.
If you accept that premise, then this first 100 days flurry of activity is a setup to something far uglier.

DOJ: Courts have ‘no authority’ to force Abrego Garcia’s return The Department of Justice (DOJ) argued in a court filing Sunday that federal courts have “no authority” to force the Trump administration to seek the return of a Maryland man wrongfully deported to…

This is what you call a constitutional crisis - a President openly defying the Supreme Court ruling and nobody in Congress has any way of making him comply - how did we get here in under 250 years? thehill.com/regulation/c...

To say that voters chose Trump over the Dems is ignoring that Dems couldn't sell Trump's horrible track record from just 4 years ago to the American voter. How bad do you have to be at doing your job (connecting with the voter) if they choose Trump with all his failures and stated policy positions?

I may not agree with him on a lot, but Bernie makes a great point here. Overturning Citizens United should be a starting point to turn the tide on this

Yup, agreed. But we need a functioning democracy where the opposition actually can hold the executive responsible for their actions. Wasn't unchecked power a reason our founders wrote this constitution? This Supreme Court has made the president unaccountable for any actions while in office.

Now can we agree that the Supreme Court needs term limits? The executive branch is unhinged, the legislative branch capitulated long ago, and the judiciary seems content to stand on the sidelines more often than not. Where are the checks-and-balances promised in the Constitution? #tiredoflosing

All Dems should take a page out of the Walz book: take time, build trust, and create a lasting alternative to rebuild American greatness around the world for a generation: youtu.be/XqM2F1JxX0c?...

American people deserve competent leaders - people who are not afraid of leaning on their followers to accept compromise without fear of retribution from some billionaire or some obscure voting block, who can make deals and craft messaging so everyone walks away feeling victorious. #tiredoflosing

Democratic Party must make primaries mandatory for all congressional and Presidential elections - especially when running for re-election. We cannot live in a 2-party system where one is anti-democratic, and the other is incoherent and cannot make the case to the American people. #tiredoflosing
