Watching the New Yorker doc and realizing that I've never read a New Yorker. As a magazine fan, that's fairly embarrassing.

Modern game shows feel so dystopian.

Tried an AI drive thru at White Castle today. It couldn’t split my crave case into cheeseburgers and hamburgers.

It just turned them all into cheeseburgers and added a single hamburger to the order. 🍔

Welcome to the future.

Writers need to tell folk villain stories. I think there's truth in "politics is downstream from culture'.

We need straightforward stories saying these guys kinda suck. Not the human interest pieces of let's get to know them and normalize them.

Tina Davis, who modeled for Ford in the mid-1990s, said in an interview that her Ford booker instructed her to get dressed up and attend a Mar-a-Lago party in late 1994. Just 14 and new to Miami, she was told to “dress sexy,” according to her mother, Sandra Coleman, who had accompanied her to Florida. Eight or nine other models came along on the bus. “All the girls were really young,” Ms. Coleman recalled in an interview. “Some of them could have been in training bras.”

When they arrived at Mar-a-Lago, Ms. Coleman said, her daughter was promptly handed a glass of champagne. She took it away, but waiters kept offering more. Each time one of the middle-aged men at the party approached her daughter, Ms. Coleman would walk over and introduce herself as Ms. Davis’s mother.

During a trip to the bathroom, they ran into Mr. Trump’s new wife, whom they had met earlier. Ms. Maples clasped her hands, Ms. Coleman recalled, and looked her in the eye. “Whatever you do, do not let her around any of these men, and especially my husband,” she told Ms. Coleman. “Protect her.”

These are the people who are willing to go on the record.

In the US, I truly believe that the increase in anti-intellectualism and illiteracy is related to newspapers not supporting their comic sections.

In Shakespeare, Food References Are a Window to the Soul Decoding a character’s anger over roast mutton.

“Eating the right foods in the proper quantities, 16th-century Britons believed, balanced mind and soul. So in Shakespeare’s plays, roasts, ales, and pies are not props, but clues to characters’ souls, moods, and motivations.” [atlasobscura.com]

I'm at a point in my cooking life that I feel like I can glance over a recipe and get the general gist of it.

Then get nervous half way through the process to check if I horribly messed it up.

If you put an 80s cartoon in front of me I've either seen it or it's vaguely familiar. I watched a lot of them in my life. But I have never heard of this one. Ever.

That is wild. It feels like it could be a hoax. I hope not. Nice to have some fun mystery in the world.
