Looking for something to do? A special event called Heroes of Time begins at 12pm EDT today! They are celebrating The Legend of Zelda's 40th Anniversary. Come hang out with jyggy, Amanda and other Zelda fan creators as they raise funds to help beat type 1 diabetes! Read more here:
Our shadows had attacked us in game, trying to absorb us and my bard grabbed his shadow's hand, pulling them out of the ground saying that they would be the perfect duet partners for each other. #JustBardThings
It took me two whole days to realize why in the original he didn't have a cast shadow. I could not for the life of me fathom why and how I simply forgot to add one. Then I remembered, he canonically no longer casts a shadow.
[Image ID:This one is the older version from 2020. A Digital painting of an elf sitting on a stone wall leading to a tunnel. He has wearing reddish-brown boots and gloves. He has dark grey pants and a gambeson under an ornate green cloak. In his hand is a glowing pinkish-purple orb. The background is filled with a lot of ferns and trees getting darker as they go further into the background. /End ID]
[Image ID: This is the newer version for 2026! There is a elf bard with long hair sitting on a stone wall leading back to a dark stone tunnel. He is wearing reddish-brown boots and gloves and dark green pants and gambeson under a purple scarf and ornate green cloak. He's looking towards the side where he is holding a magical pink glowing orb. There are various trees and plants in the background, getting lighter as it gets further in the background ./End ID]
For January I ended up finally doing a redraw of my bard from 2020! (2020 on the left, 2026 on the right!)

pass it on!! It's pfp day where you post your pfp. again. everyone look at the small arthritic moth fairy (that I don't think I ever posted here whoops)
This is the specific video I was looking at/ was the inspiration if anyone was curious:

[Image ID: A digital painting of a sunset in a sky with two suns, the larger of which is in the center of the image and partially obscured by rocky cliffs over the ocean. The sky goes from a darker purple color fading into pink and then orange. There are three shooting stars falling in the background. There are orange brown rocky cliffs on the left side of the image. The lower part of the image has a purple-blue ocean with orange highlights. /End ID]
I was watching some painting tutorials and I really liked the vibrant colors they were using in the sky and ocean and how they blended together and wanted to give it a try in my own work. I really like how it turned out.

Ack. This is on Mixed Media paper not Bristol paper, I just looked at the cover of the spiral book I drew it in, whoops.
watercolor painting of a crow perched in a tree in autumn colors. The crow is holding a gemstone pendant in its claws.
Another birb on a branch for #ArtAdventCalendar
A forest with trees without leaves in a gold-brown shimmer of light. The sun lit between the trees on the left above and there is a slight touch of snow on the ground.

A green dragon with way too many scales, laying on its back with wings spread. Its legs are in the air and it is wrapped in colorful christmas lights with a star tree topper on its tail. The dragon has a silly smile and it's tongue is sticking out.
The most festive dragon for day 9 of #ArtAdventCalendar! This dragon got into the decorations, and clearly has no regrets.
Entirely handmade with polymer clay. 🧶
[Image ID: An ink and marker drawing of a red tiefling sitting on a mossy rock in front of green plants with large leaves and thin grey trees. They have short brown hair, two curled horns, and a long red tail. They are wearing a warm green cloak and skirt over leather armor and knee high leather boots./End ID]
Dec 9! (missed a few days whoops)
Marker on Bristol paper from 2024!
I think I've actually neglected to post this one anywhere despite the fact that I really liked how it turned out.

A brightly lit large tufted owl perches high in a conifer tree, among branches and patches of bright blue sky. The owl is staring into your soul.
For the #ArtAdventCalendar – a grouchy great horned owl trying to simultaneously sleep and soak sun. I quickly left it be. #birds
Small, rectangular painting in gouache of a male hummingbird with purple gorget and head perched on a branch. I am holding the art in my left hand in front of a tubular flower bush
My expertise and art is astro/planetary related, but I am a huge bird nerd too! I occasionally paint them, like this little Costa’s hummingbird in my yard. My business name was also inspired by a bird—Cyanocitta stelleri, the Steller’s Jay. #ArtAdventCalendar
Square oil painting of the Pillars of Creation with a partial checkerboard pattern. The top left section and orange squares are mid-infrared light from JWST. The blue/purple squares with thousands of stars add in near-infrared light.
Spectrum of Stardust was my first nebula in oils. I started it in January 2023 right after I made the bold, slightly unhinged decision to leave academia & become a full-time space artist.

A large, abstract frog in shades of orange and yellow with a pink green and yellow gradient belly. Behind it is a background of blues and greens that somewhat resembles northern lights. The frog isn’t mad, just disappointed.
Day 2 of #ArtAdventCalendar: A frog that’s not mad, just disappointed.

Scan of traditional ink and watercolor illustration of a cartoon moth in a red and gold royal-looking outfit and tiny crown, holding a scepter in gloved hands. His feet are close together and he's leaning slightly forward, one eye nervously meeting the viewer as he grips the scepter tightly. A red cape is partly visible behind his light gray and brown wings. He's based on the buff-tip moth (Phalera bucephala).

a hermit crab looks at you hopefully from the sane. His arms are greenish brown and shell is warm orange and tan
It's day 2 of the invertebrate macro photo #ArtAdventCalendar.
Here, have a hermit crab 😘
A Sandhill Crane, a large gray bird, is preening with it's left wing relaxed in a very artful preening pose.
One of my more artful photos.

We've had somewhere around 1200 images posted for #ArtAdventCalendar in the first 3 days and I would guess that less than 50 have been posted without AltText.
Platform wide, AltText use is about 20% (apparently)
For AAC...about 96%
Over 450 artists leading the way. Fantastic job everyone.
A practice artwork of a nuthatch. It is a pencil drawing on grey toned paper, overpainted with acrylics loosely, and finished off with some coloured brushes in photoshop. The bird is looking to the left of the image. I have added some turquoise tones over the top in photoshop. There is a terracotta colour acrylic background.
Day 3 #ArtAdventCalendar
Artwork of a nuthatch from about 6 months ago :) –
Pencil on grey toned paper, painted over with acrylics, and finished with some colour brushes in photoshop.
Landscape-oriented photo -- a curved branch across the middle is home to a crouched Pileated Woodpecker, which if you don't know is basically a small, fancy pterodactyl -- black feathers, lots of mascara, a sharp eye-stabbing beak, and a crimson mohawk. This Woody Woodpecker-looking motherfucker seems ready to pounce, though on what, I cannot say, because its primary victim seems to be "trees" and "trees" don't move or need to be stalked or sneaked up upon so, I dunno. You'll have the ask the bird, if you can get it not to peck out your face meats. Photo by me, Chuck Wendig

The thinnest white crescent moon in a lavender sky, framed by blurry tree branches.
A favorite moon shot from exactly a year ago for the #ArtAdventCalendar 🌿
Drawing of a Saltasaurus with its back to the viewer in three-quarter view, wearing a voluminous sash around its waist, in which is stuck a profusion of swords whose hilts are carved as the heads of various dinosaurs and pterosaurs. It also wears a tricorn hat trimmed with long feathers and carries a spear.
Ol' Salty, Pirate Saltasaurus. A bit of silliness which became a personal favourite.
Sepia ink over blue pencil on Strathmore grey toned paper, 110 × 143 mm, from 2013.

Drawing of a simplified little owl in pencil and a bit of ink on moleskine paper. The owl is looking to the viewer's left, head slightly tilted down, but eye looking forwards. The background is plain. Monotone warm tones.

[Image ID: A watercolor painting of a human wizard wearing a blue cloak and mask. Her skirt is blue and covered in red belts ans she's wearing red boots and leggings. She is running towards the left with a green staff in hand. In front of her, also facing the left is a large armored lion with horns and a red mane. The background is a sunset like gradient from yellow to red to blue. /End ID]
Dec 3rd!
This was a watercolor painting I did of my GuildWars 2 elementalist back in 2020 and it's still one of my favorite pieces because of how nice the colors came out.
