Itโs time for a good olโ Spring Sale! All commissions are 25% off for the next two weeks! From today until April 26. I have 4 slots open! I offer sketches, coloured sketches, line art, flat colours, and full colours. I also do spicy art ๐ The request form link is in my bio! #bookart #dndart #fanart
Rysa art and book cover art are by @gagakumadraws.bsky.social ๐ Clover art is by me. No gen Al used by me or anyone involved.
The story behind the characters (with art of Clover and of the author at a younger (perhaps 10) age). I wrote Rysa and Clover as versions of myself from different periods in my life. Cloverโa secondary characterโrepresents a younger version of me, before I knew anything about autism. She is shy and awkward, still finding her place in the world.
Images of the author at age 32 and of Rysa. Rysaโone of the protagonistsโrepresents an older version of me. She has found safe people to be around and has become more comfortable with who she is and what she requires to live fully. Rysa takes on the role of an older sister to Clover, advocating for her and helping her to understand that the way she is is enough.
The book cover is in the centre. It has a volcano goddess on it with dark skin with orange magma rivulets flowing through it. She's holding a glowing golden orb with the images of two elves inside it. The book title is To Speak with the Stars by K.V. Wilson. Words are around the cover with arrows pointing at it: dark high fantasy; multi point of view; dragons and magma merfolk; romance without spice; telepathy; found family; disability, racial diversity, and neurodivergence rep; queer-normative world; magic gifted by the gods.
More here because it only let me share 4 slides ๐
In honour of Autism Month, here's the autism rep in To Speak with the Stars. 30% off until the end of April! The book cover has a volcano goddess on it with dark skin with orange magma rivulets flowing through it. She's holding a glowing golden orb with the images of two elves inside it. The book title is To Speak with the Stars and author is K.V. Wilson. It's a dark high fantasy with a dash of no-spice romance.
Rysa (with art of a young half-elf with braided dark hair with strands of teal in it. Art by @gagakumadraws). Autistic traits of Rysa: stimming (fidgeting with her braid); meltdowns and shutdowns (irritability, fatigue, loss of function if she endures too much without a recovery period); cannot think properly while making eye contact; difficulty recognizing sarcasm (thinks it is but isn't certain).
Clover (with art of a young faun with ginger hair, large droopy ears, and small horns on her head. Art is by the book's author). Autistic traits of Clover: stimming (stroking her horns); lack of eye contact; special interests / infodumping (lpves magic and creatures); difficulty understanding social cues and fitting in; selective mutism (going silent at certain times; similar to stage fright).
The parallels between autism and my magic system. Cloverโs peopleโthe faunsโhave innate telepathic abilities, but Clover was born without them. The other fauns converse amongst themselves, and she has no idea what's going on most of the time, always feeling like sheโs on the outside looking in. This was meant to mirror my experiences with undiagnosed autism.
Have you picked up a book by an autistic indie author for Autism Month and Indie April? Mine is currently discounted! ๐

Magic is based on spells, but it's pretty flexible (as in can do lots of things). No words need to be spoken for most spells but the intention, will, and imagination all must be present to cast a spell.
However the most powerful spells do require special words to be spoken.
A regular day playing Peak with me. POV of a friend unable to save me from death. #peak
