Through close field collaboration with other humanitarian actors, our teams were also able to provide phone charging services alongside connectivity access, helping people reconnect despite ongoing energy challenges.

TSF teams supported hundreds of residents who had been unable to communicate since the cyclone. Most are using the connectivity to reach family members, access information, read the news, or exchange on social media.

TSF is in Jamaica to meet the communication needs of humanitarian organizations and affected communities after the disaster.

TSF deployed quickly after the hurricane hit Jamaica, and is preparing the response with regional humanitarian actors.

Communications and power infrastructure are impacted, leaving many affected people without a way to contact their loved ones and find essential information.

On Tuesday, Hurricane Melissa made landfall in Jamaica as the strongest hurricane to hit the island in modern history.

Strong winds, heavy rain, landslides and floods have caused catastrophic damages, leaving dozens dead in Jamaica and Haiti and destroying infrastructure.

TSF team carries emergency communication at the airport, departing to Jamaica.
