I can imagine, by the time I went to MIAD, the gay bar scene was confined to Walkers Point and a couple bars even closed around that time. In my final year an article came out questioning whether these spaces needed to exist, so I dedicated my thesis show to documenting Milwaukee gay bar culture

Whoa! That spot got turned into my college student union in the mid-90s. It blew my mind when I learned it had been a leather bar, as I was just discovering that scene myself at the time. Cool to run into someone who actually experienced it
