It's not November anymore, but our heritage and culture doesn't stop at the end of Indigenous Peoples Month. I had the incredible privilege to attend Indigenash.

Chi miigwech to everyone involved, your efforts made this event great. What a beautiful festival, I am looking forward to next year!

Are you finding yourself overwhelmed with all the chaos of social media? It's okay to take a break every once in awhile.

I hope this finds your feed, and you can stop and smell the flowers with me, even if it's for a moment.

Thanks for sticking around. I'm glad you're here.

Recently spent a few days in NYC for my first-ever audition days AS the auditioner. What an incredible experience!

It was such a privilege to hear everyone sing, I'm so thankful that I get to do what I do.

The holidays are here, and the rush to plan and gather everything you need gets stressful. Let's take a moment to breathe, and be.

Thanks for breathing with me, friend. I'm glad you're here.

The changing of seasons always has me feeling bittersweet. As time passes, the Earth slowly moves into a slumber. I find the irresistible beauty of a fading summer day to pierce through me, like sweet, sharp glass.

Fall is here, and in Nashville it greets us with drowsy, drizzling days. The clouds cast a sleepy mood over my office, and as I sit here, eating lunch, the grey reminds me that the world is slowing to prepare for its winter slumber.

Early September mornings kiss my cheeks to wake me, and the sleep is chilled from my eyes.

As the world transitions into fall, don't forget to notice how it changes little by little every day. Take some time to appreciate how the world's cycles move.

Life gets so busy, and between the constant call of work and responsibilities at home, it feels like breaks come few and far between.

Thanks for taking time for yourself, friend. I'm glad you did something for you today.

As I settle into my new job, I'm really appreciating how beautiful the drive is to work everyday. There's just something about the crisp, early-September air kissing the leaves of trees just starting to yellow.

I bet you didn't think about biblical operas!

Samson et Dalila is one of my favorite pieces, it's truly got some of the most beautiful music in the canon.

Have you ever wanted to go to an opera?

Sometimes, it all gets to be too much. I hope that when it does, you find something to help you take a moment to breathe.

How do you reset after a bad day?

It's the start of my 2nd official audition season! As a young opera singer, we make yearly recordings of Arias we'd like to present to companies, and send them off so they can hear us before deciding if they want to hear us live.

One of summer's treasures in Tennessee is the butterfly boom! It seems like wherever I turn, there are hoards of butterflies.

Do you have a favorite butterfly species?

3. Take some time to appreciate you!

You are one of a kind. Cultivating a practice of appreciating what makes you YOU is so important when learning to love and be kind to ourselves.

I hope this gives you some food for thought! What's your favorite thing about yourself?

2. Learn to navigate mistakes with grace.

You didn't mess up on purpose, and learning to take a breath and accept the mistake (without beating yourself up) and move on is a superpower. Knowing you can assess where you went wrong and fix it next time can help build your self-trust up.

1. Celebrate your progress (no matter how small!)
Recognizing your small changes and taking a moment to appreciate your determination can help you make changes joyfully, and can train you to appreciate where you're at in the present.

Hey, we've all been there. It's okay to recognize you haven't been the kindest to yourself, and want to change. It's difficult navigating life and your relationships with others, let alone yourself.

I...hope that this rant helps me hang on just a little longer, so I can get a better job in the city and find an apartment soon. I'm tired of getting sick from how tired I am. I'm tired of crying in my car as I drive, since it's the only place safe enough for me to do so.

I struggle to tell them (mainly because I believe privacy is anyone's right, and I shouldn't have to) because I *do* sincerely appreciate all they've done for me, but it's left me as a shell of a person, Exhausted and constantly hyper vigilant.

My room has to have an open door so my cat can enter and leave as she likes, but this apparently is an open invitation for them to enter without knocking and enter when I am not there.

I get silently punished for not spending enough time with my mother, who makes me lose sleep (I run on 4-5 hours during the week) because my commute is ~2 he one way, and she can't talk to me when I'm gone.

I've been living in a small town with my parents for about 2 years (since the time I left my husband) and let me tell you:

If your parents did not give you privacy as a child, it does not get better.

~I hope these tips will help you like they help me. I know life can be overwhelming, but taking a step back to appreciate where you are in this moment is so, so good for you.

Happy Monday, Friend! ๐ŸŒฑ

3. Take a breath.

If you don't have time for anything else, doing some deep breathing can help you regulate your nervous system and keep you from getting overwhelmed. The best part? you can do this anytime, anywhere! Life gets so busy that we often forget that the easiest thing to do...is breathe.
