This is why science is so exciting: “This surprised me because we had no prior evidence…” Imagine the excitement in the lab when these results emerged! This tiny single-celled organism learned to ignore being gently tapped in its Petri dish. It learned. That’s amazing!

There are sleep programmes? I might enquire with my GP. I just assumed that they would offer me HRT and then when I point out that progesterone does bad things to me, tell me to meditate.
I've never been to the US, and I've also never raised my arm to get a waiters attention. Eye contact, a sort of head nod things and, in places where the staff are really distracted, a sort of hand wave from the wrist. Arm in the air is for getting the attention. Of your teacher when you are 8.
A picture of a rather dilapidated copy of "The picture of Dorian Gray" There is visible water damage to the cover and the plastic cover is yellowing. Obviously, not evident from the picture but there is a truly foul musty smell emanating from it!
Last week, a gentleman returned this rather dilapidated copy of this famous book to us after 50 years. He had found it in his attic!
Presumably this means there is a pristine copy somewhere in our libraries....
I am currently reading cop & marketing professional, but have also very much enjoyed ex-cop now working in his family's travelling fairground & librarian.
I did not need to see this just before my birthday. I'm now quite a lot older than Harold Bishop, let alone Madge.
That is gorgeous, but I would be so scared of food splatters around the stove.
Fancy soap to me would be Santa Maria Novella.
My kids are teenagers, so at least a year. If by "use" you mean "understand, without ever letting the word cross my lips, except possibly in the privacy of my own home to amuse my children and make them laugh at me"
Not Jesus, obviously, just some bloke selling loaves and fishes
"The image clearly depicts me as a simple vendor of seafood sandwiches"

Ma este Európa szíve erősebben dobog Magyarországon.
Europe’s heart is beating stronger in Hungary tonight.
Yeah, that we are the best people to share a bag of sweets with.
... alternatively you can have my sweets that look like artefacts! 🤣
#Archaeology
Excuse me, the citrus wine gums are the best. One of my best birthday presents was when my kids bought 2 packets of wine gums, took out all the red and black ones, put the remaining sweets into one packet and resealed it.
I'm in the middle of an audiobook full of vivid detail of the horrors of WW1. For obvious reasons, I don't want to listen to it today. Please recommend me your very best comfort reads/listens so that I actually get some sleep tonight. Until then, I'll be listening to Cabin Pressure.
Josie and the Pussycats is a delight of a film, with a soundtrack that never fails to cheer me up.
I loved it so much that I managed to have my copy signed twice!
I decided to have less actual chocolate this Easter and instead got some chocolate tea from Bird & Blend, and that stuff is amazing. I just had a cup of violet cream flavored tea and it was so good I feel a tiny bit giddy, although that might also be because it's my first caffeine in several months.
Here are the times for exciting moon stuff. If you are on British Summer Time, that is 5 hours ahead of Eastern Standard Time, so 1pm EST is 6pm BST.
When I took my kids to look around local secondary schools and there was an LGBTQ+ noticeboard prominently displayed in almost every one, I cried. Section 28 didn't kick in until I had almost finished school, and that was bad enough.
New Bangles tune just dropped.
Alas, when I went in to Betty's this morning they had sold out, so I am making do with Betty's Easter biscuits and M&S Granny Smith hot cross buns.
And if you prefer your rowing stories to be fanfic of Mary Renault's Alexander trilogy only set in an Oxford college, then this is one of my favourite au fics ever: archiveofourown.gay/works/9021568
Congratulations to Oxford women on their boat race victory! If you like stories about rowing but also kissing, I highly recommend See You at the Finish Line by Zack Hammett which I finished yesterday and really enjoyed.

Did you toast it or eat it uncooked? I'm planning on going to the gym tomorrow morning and could stop off at Betty's on my way home, in time for breakfast.
Yes! Ballet Shoes is finally available on National Theatre at Home!
A Sundance Lady is one who can play Robert Redford to the writer's Paul Newman and she has to get the film reference where the two jump off a cliff together. The ambiguity of the wording suggests that only bi/pansexual film buffs should reply.
Just got a shock reading a book where it's summer, and the characters are in hot weather clothes, but it's dark at 8pm. Sometimes it's easy to forget what a big place the world actually is.
Trying to work out whether it has just been really cold for the past 3 days or whether I'm coming down with an illness. Either way, I'm getting out the hour water bottle that ties around my waist.
