This was from the first Dancehall album that I bought on CD. The first CD that I bought was Iron Storm in Dub (?) by Black Uhuru (whixh put me off of Dub and Black Uhuru for a bit).

The title and subject matter of this song may be controversial. But, since I found it at Northwestern's Evanston campus and Evanston is still implementing a program for reparations,, I chose it.
A group that I came across under promotional auspices at WNUR in Evanston-Chicago. The have leaned into the aural pastiche of Dub Reggae music to consistently interesting effect, employing an array of guest artists and styles. Perhaps controversial, the title and subject matter are appropriate.
I thought that this was an early incarnation of The Abyssinians/a Bernard Collins song. Am I wrong?
I tune in for Dav-I, but haven't heard anyone else. The schedule seems sparse right now. Thanks, will tune in!!
I just picked up Joe Higg's Triumph album on Alligator Records out of Chicago. 1985, but relatively lush arrangements and recording/mixes!
Credited to Coghill Leghorn.
Lloyd "Judge" Ferguson on lead. I had a call-in radio interview arranged with him when I was doing an overnight show. I wasn't able to keep DJing until the morning time that he had assigned. Unfortunate though it was, it would be great to ask him about his role in Mighty Diamonds!
Is this an interpetation of the John Coltrane version?
I have this on a Heartbeat compilation called Some Of the Best.
I have Power House Selector's Choice Vol. 1-4 on CD for the most part, but they don't have any Super Cat. Thanks for the share!
Bunny's cackling on the version is downright scary!
The rim shot at the beginning (and, the subsequently strange keyboard sustain) are an indelible part of my adolescent years. Whenever I here it, I am transported. Likewise, the bizarre narrative of "Mr. Brown" is a bit of Jamaican magical realism before I knew the term. Thanks for posting!
I just had a recommendation for this tune from an eminent authority on the subject. I think that it is in the context of an R&B influence.
Planning a set for next Saturday night, including this tune preceded by The Revolutionaries' version. Thanks for sharing!
Today is publication day! Just picked it up.

I have the Blood & Fire reissue on double LP, and you can hear Lee "Scratch" Perry's infuence on the productions. Such a great voice and a great document!
Thans for the musical history and shares!
300 Northwestern University students were prevented from registering for classes because they refused to undergo "anti-bias" training. This is punishment for the pro-Palestinan protests in 2024 disguised as prevention against antisemitism.
Ruaa sent me this video of a nearby bombing this morning. If you have the means to help, either through a donation or sharing her campaign, she could really use the support.

Yes, I just posted “Teardrops Dub” thinking that was him Deejaying at the end (faintly, in the background) and likely playing drums. Thanks for sharing!
