Ossoff: "The American people need to know that the president is fundraising for his political campaign and his PAC using images of American service members killed in action, and it's a disgrace"

I know that the people who need to read this aren’t here, but here goes:

Rules of engagement aren’t for the enemy. They’re for you. They’re for your soldiers when they’re captured or wounded. They’re for your civilians when they’re in range of the enemy. They’re for your allies, to reassure.

NYT push alert: "A person was shot dead today during a struggle with federal agents in Minneapolis, according to officials."

By who? Who shot the person dead? You saw the video. We all know a federal agent shot a man dead who was prone on the ground. Also, it's not "according to officials." It's according to verified video seen with your eyes. Not saying what anyone can obviously see with their eyes is a form of lying.

Hey @americanair, I get that Carribean airspace was closed yesterday, but rebooking a week later isn’t acceptable! Flights should be added to SXM and other Carribean locations ASAP so folks can get home.

In shelters across New York, migrant children sit in front of computer and TV screens, appearing virtually in real court proceedings. They swivel in chairs, walk in circles and play with their hair — while immigration judges address them on the screens in front of them.
"The reason we're here is because the government of the United States wants you to leave the United States," Judge Ubaid ul-Haq, presiding from a courtroom on Varick Street, told a group of about a dozen children on a recent morning on Webex.
"It's my job to figure out if you have to leave," ul-Haq continued. "It's also my job to figure out if you should stay."
The parties included a 7-year-old boy, wearing a shirt emblazoned with a pizza cartoon, who spun a
toy windmill while the judge spoke. There was an
8-year-old girl and her 4-year-old sister, in a tie-dye shirt, who squeezed a pink plushy toy and stuffed it into her sleeve. None of the children were accompanied by parents or attorneys, only shelter workers who helped them log on to the hearing.

🚨NEW: Four weeks ago, Trump terminated funding for legal services to support unaccompanied children.

Now, children as young as 4 years old are having to represent themselves in court when facing deportation.

You know that scene in Braveheart where Wallace is betrayed by the Scottish nobles and he chases one down and finds out it was Robert-the-Bruce.

And then Wallace just lays on the ground in disbelief at the betrayal?

That’s how I feel right now. Chuck Schumer is a weaker Robert the Bruce.

It may not be cool or hip in some circles, but we legitimately do need a massive amount of people to run for office.

Flood the school boards, councils, county seats, state legislatures, Congress, etc.

Big changes at the top happen when the ground shifts at the bottom. And that can start now.

Ukrainian hearts sink in Philly as Trump pivots toward Russia “To see an American president betray Ukraine like this is really beyond words,” said Mary Kalyna, who is active in the Philadelphia Ukrainian community.

“This week, Trump falsely accused Ukraine of starting the war and repeated talking points of the Russian president, saying it was time for an election in Ukraine because "this could have been settled very easily." - This is how it’s done. Clear eyed local journalism conveying what’s at stake.

This period under Musk/Trump feels like early February in 2020—when a terrible thing was happening with breakneck speed, and the people paying close attention were hair-on-fire about it while the rest of the country carried on as normal.

Would have liked to see this TRO nationwide - but perhaps other states will join or file their own suits to get similar relief.

Children’s Hospital of Pennsylvania has indirect rate of 70%, but they probably didn’t want to list that atop Harvard because defunding a children’s hospital might be perceived as problematic.

This is devastating

Schools will feel the pain right away. There will be an urgent need to resolve the crisis. Cutting all grants overnight will have serious effects on everyday parents and children across the US.

What’s the effect of the federal grant freeze in the field of education? No head start funds for pre-k, no IDEA funds for disabled children, no Title I funds to fund academic opportunities. Medicaid? That pays for speech therapy, OT, PT, aide supports for some students.

But… they are laws. Let’s not pretend that a president is omnipotent and can “suspend” laws. To even suggest as much gives POTUS more power than he has. It’s like asking if the president should appoint more members to the S CT. Sure some people may say yes, but it’s meaningless w/o laws changing
