In the same manifesto, Palantir's owners argued that we need a national military draft, that soft power is over, and that we were too hard on Germany and Japan after World War II. I don't think that company should be allowed to exist anymore.

Trump is riffing to the press, going on about two things: Iran not having nuclear weapons, and his right to disagree with the Pope. I waited for it and there it was: "The Pope thinks Iran can have nuclear weapons, I disagree."

The Founding Fathers knew a king-like tyrant would one day try to rule as personal dictator and use presidential powers to live above the law. But they never foresaw a branch of government abdicating oath for complicity and grift, or algorithmic media producing a citizenry so manipulated by deceit.

Other than the Fed, the Supreme Court, GOP Senators, Thomas Massie, every US ally, his staff, MAGA influencers, the Press, NATO, contractors, analysts, historians, pollsters, and the Pope, Trump gets along with everyone.
Of course, that basically leaves Putin, Netanyahu, and Mike Johnson.
And imagine if during that same week, Jill Biden had called a press conference to deny allegations and distance herself from the world's most notorious dead pedophile.
Imagine if Joe Biden, in one week, threatened to wipe out an entire civilization, then attacked the Pope and then posted an AI image of himself as Jesus.
I know. Even imagination has its limits.
Certain people, like Miller, seem to have been birthed by demons; others, like Hegseth, have no clue- they'd be laughable caricatures if not in such serious positions; but Blanche seems to have made a conscious decision to tear down the Rule of Law, and knows he is doing it.
I'm sure we've all got our wish lists of which Trump 2.0 officials we most want to be held accountable. The person who keeps moving higher up my list, a brutally shameless gaslighter who shreds the Rule of Law in service to ambition and psychopathy, is Todd Blanche.
Rand Paul hit the nail on the head at the very end of this clip - "there's an unwillingness to admit we made mistakes and we'll do it better ..." - this is EXACTLY the case AND the problem.
It is Republicans being imitative of the pathology of their highly disordered leader. Period.

Hey - remember Trump’s $10B defamation lawsuit against The WSJ over its lewd birthday card to Epstein reporting? It was just dismissed by a Judge in the Southern District of Florida who stated that Trump had not "plausibly alleged" the WSJ acted with malice or reckless disregard.
LOL.
Trump, the serial criminal, posted that The Pope is "weak on crime." Yes, I said The Pope. I think it's important for us to remember that besides being a narcissist, sociopath, grifter, rapist, traitor, and serial criminal, he's also an out-of-control idiot.
And - hopefully - it's a consequential GREAT day, with more to come going forward, for Ukraine, who Orban (and Vance) desperately tried to villainize.

One of the things that MAGA does, which they do ignorantly and defensively, is suggest that Trump will sue someone for making an allegation against him. Not if it's true, he won't. Not if he couldn't withstand discovery, he won't.

It looks to me as if Iran is mocking Trump, as if Iran understands how to exploit his hyperbole, as if Iran understands strategy and posture better than him, as if Iran doesn't yet want to give him an exit.
Trump keeps saying Iran has no cards. Iran knows Trump is a trapped moron. That's a big card.
Maybe, instead of Trump sending greedy real estate guys like Kushner and Witkoff to broker peace, or dislikable and disingenuous cabinet members like Vance, Trump should reach out to the one highly credible person who has proven he knows precisely how to do this - Barack Obama.
