Was that an issue with the Sherman, or just that successfully and sustainably cracking front lines was difficult by 1944?

That series is just non-stop bangers. A short thread:
I assume so primarily, though the book I've got on FT use (French Tanks of the Great War, by Tim Gale) doesn't mention it.
Wikipedia lists the HE round for the infantry gun it was based on as having 30g explosive filler (which is about half that of a Mills bomb)
Where are the fags and the drinking?
Dunno about everyone else, but I chose a cheaper hobby. Like Warhammer 😂
Added bonus, it doesn't give me liver damage or lung cancer
The SA 18 was for anti-infantry use, particularly MG nests. Being a WW1 gun, there wasn't any real need for anti-tank work when it was developed
What do you mean? Of *course* the Labyrinth is real! Otherwise our theology and the entire basis for the Empire would be flawed!
Yeah, some mysteries should definitely stay unexplained 😂
Iron Within!
These look awesome
Given that she claims that trans people should only be given hormones after they've been diagnosed with gender dysphoria and that she also doesn't seem to believe gender dysphoria*exists*, I think it's more than a little difficult to argue that she "supports transgender people"
How fast should inflation-adjusted income be growing?
So the Hungarian opposition's big idea was Vote Harder? And they thought, what, that they could vote the fascists out?
*looks at the devastations in Gaza*
Wow, the Israeli government is insanely evil
*Looks at people exploiting the Palestinian suffering for their own financial gain*
Huh, these fraudsters are also evil
What a wonderful view to wake up to! And I can even see some blue!
The famous Andor line is that "tyranny requires constant effort. It breaks, it leaks. Authority is brittle." Here is a perfect example of that through malicious compliance: Idaho forced the city of Boise to remove its Pride flags. So the city painted rainbows everywhere else.
Hahahaha, OMG that's incredible 🤣
1066! But yeah, defining 'Empire' is remarkably subjective
This made me laugh far more than it should have 😂
So making it clear to them that it's in their own best interests to make a stand ("Trump has gone too far now" sort of thing) might convince a self-serving Republican to turn.
Not likely, but if it works to turn them on each other, then great!
I can see a path for a Republican politician to make a stand though. If they think public opinion has turned against Trump enough, then acting against him might help their re-election chances quite significantly (or possibly some kind of speaking tour or eventual come-back after leaving office)
Repost is so important here - Likes are nice but don’t have any effect on the number of people seeing a creator’s work. Like block, use repost early and often to make everyone’s feed richer.
Other than Atlantic/Pacific, is there *any* logical way of describing the ends of the Panama Canal?
My gut feeling is that applying those same standards to the Eastern Front (essentially a mix of "were there major setbacks" and "did it accomplish all its objectives") would get an approximation of every operation being a 'failure' which I think most people would realise is excessively harsh
Great article!
Reading this has also helped reinforce one of my other opinions on WW2 memory. Do we judge the success of the Western Allies more harshly? If we consider M-G a failure (along with the Bulge, Kasserine etc), what happens if we apply the same standards in the East?
I voted Labour because they were the strongest non-Tory party in my constituency. I don't think I'll make that mistake next time...
When was the last time he checked, 1945?
*Renner, obviously... Autocorrect doesn't seem to like that name though
I could see an argument for it if public interest had completely fallen away (though even then, I think it's pretty poor taste)
But that's obviously not the case for Epstein!
Pretty certain I heard this in my meeting this morning!
To be fair, that's the attitude of the nobility, who only exist to let Kevin Tenner swan about the galaxy with no responsibility!
The half-track reads M3 to me, but I'm 90% certain that's due to the suspension
