All my cats have hated the mohawk. My late, great tomcat, Bean, would refuse to acknowledge me or purr for several hours afterwards. He would pretend to prefer my husband during his pout.

I haven't seen a tick since I was a kid. I'm sure they are around here somewhere, but not in my area.

They have been around since shortly after (we're speaking geological time here) an asteroid wiped dinosaurs off the face of the earth, so I think they are pretty resilient. But, maybe we're the asteroid now.

I'll leave some orange peels out. They also love to dig in my garden beds for the fig beetle grubs, which are huge. I used to feed Blossom bananas and blueberries. She didn't like strawberries. Mostly, she wanted to get inside - as she did once - and eat the dry cat food.

We do that too, with Miss Ziggy Sawdust. We call it giving her her mohawk. She hates it.

Way to go Melody. I'm doing postcards again this year. I used to do them with my late mother-in-law. I didn't think they made much of a difference but research says they really do make a difference.
