Didn't the video from yesterday indicate that they've already used AI to draw the maps? What's the point of this new committee if the outcome is predetermined (as always seems to be the case with their performative panels, town halls, surveys, referendums, etc)

Yet another example of the collosal waste of money the UCP is spending so that they can say they did proper consultations, then throw it all away to do whatever the f* they want anyway.

Governments that have to pick their voters to remain in power are not legitimate governments worthy of being called democratic. Politicians choosing their voters is about as undemocratic as it gets.

This is soooooo fucking dangerous, Alberta.

I don't know how many red lines we need, but this is a big one of them.

AB Resistance (@abresistance) There is no bottom with this government. If they don't like something they just redo it. My question will this proceed faster than the Forever Canadian committee? None of this is normal or democratic!

substack.com/@abresistanc...

It is NOT NORMAL for a sitting government to redraw electoral boundaries themselves.
And to reject the already agreed upon boundaries, reached by consensus of a bipartisan arm’s-length committee, is the hallmark of a totalitarian regime not a democratic government.

Why Danielle Smith’s Populist Referendums Are Dangerous to Democracy | The Tyee Our political system relies on pluralism, compromise and debate. All are endangered in Alberta.

"Pluralists should avoid treating these votes as a normal exercise in democracy... It is a referendum on an approach to governance — a way to manufacture legitimacy while dodging the institutions that test ideas, protect rights and force compromise."

Is there some reason the Forever Canadian question can't be used? Are they just pretending none of that happened?

"For me the big red flag is: does it end in the supplement shop?"

IMO this is the question we should always be asking when it comes to privatized health care - especially for historically stigmatized issues like menopause.

If you don’t understand the difference between abortion being an individual decision that affects only oneself & vaccine refusal being a public health choice that affects herd immunity & thus the health of your community, you have zero fucking business working in, let alone overseeing public health.

I immediately thought of you when I saw this. But in a good way. Whenever you come on I want to listen.

HHS Gave a $1.6 Million Grant to a Controversial Vaccine Study. These Emails Show How That Happened Two Danish researchers faced accusations of “questionable research practices” as RFK Jr.’s top appointees made their study a “funding priority.”

How sad is this? The CDC closed its FOIA office, so this story could only be published because a Danish journalist provided Rolling Stone with the documents, after obtaining them through a freedom of information request to the University of Southern Denmark

Why do so many celebrities have Lyme disease? Celebrity claims are fuelling confusion about the risks of Lyme disease. For The National, CBC’s senior health reporter Christine Birak investigates what’s really behind the boom in high-profile cases...

Excellent review of what Lyme Disease is, and isn't. Chronic Lyme, for the most part, is not a thing. Those chronic symptoms are likely something else entirely.

Populists like Smith don’t just win by mobilizing their base — they win by convincing everyone else that their base is bigger and more mainstream than it actually is.

👉That’s the core of the populist playbook: make a small, loud group look universal so everyone else stays quiet.

• Vaccines don’t cause autism.
• COVID-19 vaccines aren’t killing kids.
• COVID-19 *is* the leading infectious cause of death in children.

The CDC & FDA have been taken over by wellness grifters.
Posting lies as “truth” doesn’t make them true—it makes them propaganda.

List of countries with the best reputation, showing change between 2024 and 2025.

According to this ranking, Canada’s reputation has improved since 2024. We are now the 2nd most reputable country in the world.

The United States has dropped from 30th to 48th in that same year, the biggest drop of any nation BY FAR. Its reputation-peers are now Kuwait, Algeria, Kazakhstan…

Problem for Canadians west of Ontario - time is prime trick or treat time. Set up a candy bowl on top of a tall planter, then blocked the walkway with it. Decorated it nicely for the trick or treaters and now we are watching the Blue Jays in peace! #WANTITALL 🇨🇦

So ridiculous. I recently saw a video of someone in a Costco holding up the label of their beef tallow proclaiming that it was a source of protein. The label clearly said protein: 0g.

Anything to hop on a trend.

It also discusses trade implications when a government does not properly contain an outbreak, something I haven't seen mentioned in any of the discourse I've seen.

"My Lai became a symbol of everything that had gone wrong with the war, because it wasn't a story of a few men losing control...(1/3)

What an absolute ghoul.

We are all reeling from the news of Dr. Markland's death. He was the best of humanity and reminded us to care about others and the bigger world around us. His loss is immeasurable. So I guess Makis was right about one thing - they were the exact opposite.

I think these predatory sites scrape news of deaths and post fake obituaries. They then try to get people to purchase flowers, or a popup tells them they have a virus, etc. Its horrific they do this. But they do have to scrape it from somewhere so it probably came from a private post.

David Rose, the police officer and Afghanistan veteran with a wife and 2 small children, was murdered by a white, right wing extremist man a month ago over antivaccine conspiracies pushed by RFK Jr. and this administration. He did not get recognition from political leaders or even much news coverage
