PSA: The pork chop sandwich is legendary at Hamvention, but so is the lingering aroma if you skip the deodorant.

Lather, rinse, roll‑on, repeat. 🙏

Hope to see you (not smell you) at #Hamvention2025. | #hamradio

Using the FTM-400 for the first time reminded me that Yaesu has absolute zero care for UI/UX. #HamRadio

Marry a girl who says things like:

“I’m proud of you.”

“I had fun tonight.”

“I appreciate you.”

“A 100-foot tower for your antennas seems completely reasonable.”

Found this at a local hamfest today and just had to buy it. I’m a Motorola guy, but I couldn’t resist — it was a steal of a deal.

I give you…the /\/\ototera! #HamRadio

Got my K7S special event QSL in the mail — including the used amateur radio stamp.

The stamp debuted in 1964 and honors America’s amateur radio operators, of which there were about 250,000 in 1964.

Very cool special event! #HamRadio

Just received a replacement microphone for my AnyTone 578. After seven years the contacts in the PTT switch were worn. It was annoying but manageable. Then the RJ45 connector broke — that was the last straw. #HamRadio

Whistler Group - one of two scanner manufacturers - has went out of business unexpectedly. That leaves only Uniden as the sole manufacturer of scanners. #HamRadio

Can’t say I’m surprised. Encryption of public safety and moving to digital has put a lot of downward pressure on the scanner market.

It was fun to make contact with the Iowa State Amateur Radio Club during their experimental balloon launch this morning. Their payload was a FM repeater!

Heard stations across Minnesota, Illinois, Iowa and Indiana as I was listening. #HamRadio

Excited to make my first post on BlueSky! I'm still active on X, and a little less so on Mastodon. But looking forward to building a network of #HamRadio friends here too.
