The morning light brings such a magical glow to the hills surrounding vast plains dotted with trees beautifully spaced between each other, Namibia is a special place for photographers lucky enough to visit. #namibia #africa #landscape #landscapephotography #travel #travelphotography #mountains
Interesting question - so I just went online and it reads "Yes, you can raft the Fish River, however most rafting trips on the Fish River are considered "float trips" due to the generally calm water, and are primarily done for scenic viewing and wildlife spotting, not for intense whitewater rafting"
What a lovely comment. Thank you.
It is damned large (and gorgeous).
awww.... thank you.
Fish River Canyon, in southern Namibia, is the second largest canyon in the world (next to Grand Canyon). The Fish River is 800 kilometers long and, thus, the longest river in Namibia.

Lucky you - Deadvlei is truly one of God's great creations.
So happy for you that you are on site in one of earths magical places. Enjoy!!
Thank you. You know every square meter ๐
Agreed - and each scene seemed better than the last. Awesome country.
As one drives Namibia, what enhances its beauty is its vastness and its vacancy....endless km of spectacular geology void of inhabitants. #namibia #landscapephotography #wildlifephotography #dunes #mountains #openspace #desert #mountains #sand #drivenamibia #winhoek #openspace #africa #southafrica
Arrive well before the sun comes up if you visit the Quiver Tree Forest in southern Namibia. I promise you, it will be well worth the effort. #quivertree #namibia #travelphotography #nature #travel #landscapephotography #sunrise #namibiatourism #namibiatravel #flowers #fineartphotography
The location is breathtaking and driving on the dunes with the appropriate vehicle is a "hoot".
Understand - you would have to make it a three-week trip to get to all the wonderful spots just on the "classic" route.

It's remarkable how stable and massive (and epic) the dunes are in Sossusvlei. #sossusvlei #namibia #deadvlei #desert #namibiatravel #namib #travel #travelphotography #dunes #sossusvleidunes #nature #naturephotography #landscape #photography #safari #travelnamibia #namibie #landscapephotography
It's all in the eyes of the beholder!
The truth is, I don't recall by name, but they are all spectacular.
I'm having such fun reliving the trip through image selection.
The shapes, the light, and the shadows seem endless as one can explore Sossusvlei from sunrise to sunset and always be mesmerized. #sossusvlei #namibia #deadvlei #desert #travel #travelphotography #dunes #nature #visitnamibia #naturephotography #landscape #photography #namibie #landscapephotography
The light and shadows play so wonderfully against the textured landscapes and rolling hills of Namibia.

It's like a Chocolate Kiss being illuminated by the early morning light on this magical Namibian landscape. #namibia #windhoek #travel #landscapephotography #safari #nature #travelphotography #desert #photography #namibdesert #sossusvlei #visitnamibia #wildlifephotography #naturephotography
It brings them back for me and brings a smile to my face. You made them happen.
It is a remarkable place.
When in Namibia, a "must-see" is Kolmanskop. It's an abandoned diamond mine town (ghost town). Literally, a town (housing, hospital, school, administration, meeting rooms) that the desert is slowly reclaiming as sand piles up in all the deteriorating buildings. Great to see and photograph.
Raise it to the top of the list- you won't be sorry.
The "endless" dunes of the Namib desert..or folds of fabric. Such remarkable geology. spectacular. #namibia #travel #southafrica #nature #travelphotography #desert #photography #namibdesert #walvisba #ocean #waves #sand #dunes #wildlifephotography#naturephotography #Namibia #3landscapephotography
Thank you. I hope you do because Namibia is a spectacular country well off the "usual places" for most people.
