I still remember this: we had a two hour delay because of snow that Monday morning. We lived close enough that my mom let me just walk to school. I left a few minutes early to stop at a Stop and Go to grab that morning’s USA Today just to read the sports section in front of him.
One of my classmates was the most obnoxious Broncos fan so I greatly enjoyed Bud Bowl and their thrashing in 1990.
A couple of years the actual Super Bowl was such a blowout we had no other choice.
Dan shot the photos for my Defector story about Starter and we hung out for the day at the 2024 Pennsylvania Open professional 9-ball tournament. Really great guy and extremely encouraging and positive. My thoughts go out to his wife and kid (who he talked about a lot) and everyone close to him.
I took a day off Monday to decorate my tree, watch A Charlie Brown Christmas, Christmas Eve on Sesame Street and a Letterman from 1989 where pro bowler Mike Aulby was rolling bowling balls at egg nog but my Christmas does not officially start until Drew’s list is published.
Getting the feeling Warde will be having his own conversation with an HR representative soon.
