i have like five or six external hard drives by this point now, three 4TB ones and an 8TB for all my gaming recordings, and a 1 and 2TB drive for literally everything else that isn't an hours-long video file 😂

pros of keeping recordings of yourself gaming and playing TTRPG with your friends: having lots of saved memories to revisit later

cons of keeping those recordings while having regular game nights: have fun buying more external hard drives every 8 months lol

funniest thing that happened to me recently is telling a friend i prob have dysgraphia and then a few days later inviting that friend to watch me stream art and within 10 mins of starting the stream my friend's just like "yeah i can see how you adapt to your dysgraphia just in the way you draw"

no one tells you this but if you make an elf D&D PC and your PC is the only elf in the party you will feel immense amount of angst over the difference between your PC's lifespan and the lifespans of the party. this is an occupational hazard you have chosen by making an elf and you MUST live with it.

and sebylen's delivery of the dramatic speech plus the DM's own add-on actually almost led to the DM tearing up and crying. im gonna consider this one of my crowning achievements of TTRPG for years to come i swear.

and like. everyone knew i was planning to do a dramatic speech to this antagonist. but i didn't tell anyone what the actual content of the speech was. and yet the DM 1) had the perfect music locked and loaded, and 2) had their own perfect little bit speech to add onto mine via another NPC.

i love TTRPG so much. last D&D session sebylen delivered a dramatic speech to the final boss of story arc to try and redeem him and was so convincing we actually managed to talk him down successfully and skip a whole phase of the boss fight because of his choice to listen to sebylen.

it's not my circus nor is it my monkeys but i happen to be in the bleachers of that particular big top and i would like to be able to throw tomatoes at the clowns sometimes.
