Oh no. That’s red? No no no. I still choose to see a hot dog in a bun with a single line of mustard on it.

I think it’s important to point out there is no ketchup.
I tried using the project feature on Yelp to get estimates for a toilet replacement at my parents house. I hoped it would save me time calling around during my work day. Nope. Just a bunch of bots auto responding with “hey give us a call”.
All in all, I’m pretty happy with the Marshall DSL20HR head paired with a Harley Benton G112 Vintage cabinet.
The Harley Benton cabinet is basic but it has a real Celestion Vintage 30 in it. Can’t get a cabinet with these anywhere for a better price.
I have to say, the tubular bells in the bridge and outro of KISS’ “Do You Love Me” really class it up a notch.
Took the girls to see Project Hail Mary tonight. We all enjoyed it. That is all.
The missing fourth verse from The Police’s “Synchronicity II”
So thankful for a smooth, safe launch.
Will he be on an aircraft carrier? Will he be in front of a huge banner that says “Mission Accomplished”?
If you haven’t yet watched “Becoming Led Zeppelin” on Netflix, watch it today after the Artemis II launch.
It’s great, and after watching it I now have an even bigger man-crush on Jimmy Page.
You know that skepticism you’re applying for everything you see on the internet today because it’s April Fools Day?
This is how you should be using the internet all the time.
Fucking hell, LinkedIn Notification settings. I’ve been getting bombarded today with “Joe Bob posted this” and “Venkat commented on that” notification, figured something changed. There must be a hundred different settings now to manage. I just shut them all off with the iOS kill switch. WTAF!
A special shout out to 1-800-Hansons for wasting my Sunday afternoon by not showing up for a roof, gutters, and windows estimate and then giving me attitude when I called them about it. Anyone else in the metro Detroit area want my business? I need some work done at my parents’ house.
Even if he did, they’d just “Weekend at Bernie’s” him around for the next 10 years.
Every new release of a desktop OS brings changes to how I have to build, package, and sign my application. I’m tired of the chase. The side income from this app is too good to ignore though. Maybe I should sell it.
That, and the dev tools have moved on without a lot of support for building desktop apps. It’s taken the fun out of development for me. The nature of what my software does makes it incompatible with the cloud. I spend 10x more time engineering the build than the app itself. It’s a moving target.
I’ve made quite a bit of money selling a desktop software utility over the past 20+ years, but I’ve not put out a minor update in 12 months, a major in 8 years. Why? All the security hoops (signing, scanning, notarizing, etc) so the OS lets my app install and run on your computer is a ton of work.
Just thought you GenZ’s who are out there buying CD’s should know you might get a surprise if you put certain CD’s into a computer.
For example, Weezer’s “Maladroit” CD has a video of the drummer skateboarding down the spiral parking ramp of Cobo Hall in Detroit.
“King of Queens” needs to come back with Kevin James now playing the crazy father-in-law in the basement.
At least it’s not another stupid military parade
I bought a new speaker cabinet for my amp based on Copilot’s recommendation. It arrived and I discover it’s the wrong impedance. I guess now I HAVE TO buy a new amp too…
Like they used to tell us at work: Trust but verify.
Well, we all know it took a bit longer than that. I’m no longer with GM, but I’ve been working remote ever since. 6 years. Sometimes I miss the office collaboration and occasional antics, but I never want to go back full time. Maybe a limited hybrid arrangement.
That night, via the company emergency notification service, we all received the text message to stay home. Shelter in place until this new virus, COVID-19, burns itself out.
She was crying. The CEO had sent word that we were to all go with from home for at least 2 weeks, but her boss, the global CIO, wasn’t in board with that. It’s just the flu, he said. But my boss said she was scared too and was going to tell everyone to ignore her boss and go work from home anyway.
I also told them I’d been hitting Costco for extra groceries every night after work that week and they might want to do the same. Panic was building out there. I gave everyone the OK to leave work early if they wanted too. Later in my meeting with my boss…
The thing on everyone’s mind was would we be sent home for a few weeks? I told everyone I didn’t know but take everything home that afternoon anyway - personal belongings, docking station, monitors, etc. I’d tell them more after my meeting with our CIO later that day.
6 years ago today, I held my last fully in-the-office APM (though I called them All Hands Meetings). The company had told us to leave one chair open between everyone, so we were spilt into 2 large conference rooms. Most were visibly nervous about all the talk of this new virus.
I replaced my Tube Screamer with an MXR Timmy and it’s just so, so much better. Makes the Les Paul growl and the RG550 sing. Highly recommended if playing through a Marshall DSL.
MXR pedals are really, really good.
