It later turns out that they are purchasing cheap manufactured goods and relabeling them to make them seem hand crafted/small batch.

It devalues artisans who have spent a lot of time, money, and effort making something good by creating a “rip-off” product that sells for cheaper. Even if you are “only” using generative AI for labels or logos, even having just that reduces trust in all of the vendors around you for anyone who has a keen eye to AI generated assets. This destabilizes trust in the entire collective of artisans, because if one vendor is getting away with using gen AI, then who else is?
